Reviews on Bar food in La Maddalena, Province of Olbia-Tempio, Italy. Napoleon tried to occupy La Maddalena, and who could blame him? The largest town on the largest island of the Maddalena Archipelago, La Maddalena is renowned for its beautiful beaches and its national park. Hire a private boat to explore the surrounding uninhabited islands, or just relax on the café au lait sands of Spalmatore Beach.
Things to do in La Maddalena
We came to La Maddalena after numerous recommendations but a lot of the town just seems overly touristy. This place serves you one meal at a time so as a party of 10 including 4 children we were all served our microwaved and luke warm meals too far apart. We sent the children's meal back as it was like warm and it came back very quickly red hot after a quick bing! Our complaints fell on deaf ears by the waitress who increasingly got abusive and had a couple of rants which I could make out a few choice words. My father in law was served his lasagne after 8 of our party had left in protest but as he was hungry ate it whilst the waitress ranted on. A truly awful experience which came very close to ruining our day out. Terrible food and service. In general our experiences in Sardinia were fantastic and we had a great holiday overall.
Came here a few times and was well looked after by all the staff! We almost became part of the family who knew what we were drinking and they always served us snacks which we thought was an excellent touch! Very amenable and friendly staff, highly recommended! Even for tea totalers there was something to offer!

Had a great caprese salad and drinks here in the sunshine. All served on plastic plates and cutlery which I'm less keen on but great value at â¬4 each and nice atmosphere.

The Art Café is in the town off the marina. They serve good drinks, appetizers and meals. A really nice patio with lounge chairs to relax and soak up the local culture. If the football (soccer) game is on they will have it on the television.

P. S. Le ragazze so tutte belleeeeeee. DAJEEE

BIG sandwiches, great chips and cold beers in the shade of a pine forest. You can relax afterwards on a hammock! Totally recommend. Prices are reasonable.

Campari soda, hah, takes me back to the 1970s. First time I've had one since! I didn't like it then, this time I did. Zi Anto is a beach hut straddling the peninsula, so two beaches with the café handily sited in the middle. A little more permanent than most, with a proper loo and a few tables inside. I think that in French it would be called Chez Antoine - perhaps an Italian speaker could confirm? We went a couple of times as it was so nice. We ate from the Specials menu - a blackboard that they bring to your table. Italian one side, English the other. Anchovies to start, then fritto misto. King prawns, calamari, and three different fish in light tempura batter. Stuffed squid - possibly a mistranslation, squid stewed in tomato sauce was more like. Roast vegetables - peppers and aubergine. Chips. Campari soda and a glass of wine each came to 65â¬We watched the sun set in the west. An hour or so later we watched the moon rise from behind the Eagle's Nest tor. Half the restaurant rushed over to take photos.

Drive the panoramic route to baia trinita, continue to the dead end parking at the down end. You can enjoy the beach, or go for a snack or sunset cocktail. They close around 9.30 pm. Wonderful atmosphere, relaxed, feet in the sand, friendly service, smooth jazz.
