We have been a few time before the last time about 18 months ago,the new upstairs it very nice and spacious, service friendly. the menu is quite large and most prices at very good like $22 for garlic prawns, overall it still has the essence of the old place, which for us is good. Wine starts from $26 per bottlewe had the lobster cocktail and oysters to start both were very good particularly the local oysters, for main we had garlic prawns and Battered banana prawns, batter was light and prawns very good. We had a very good two course dinner, and will be going back again during our stay
This is the restaurant of the Tarkine Hotel Corinna. This is the only restaurant in Corinna and you would have to travel by car for 1 1/4 hours for the nearest alternative restaurant in Zeehan (including a river toll). We stayed in one of the hotels cabins (separate review) and were delighted to find that it provided lunch and dinner. The restaurant is located within an interesting building - with walls covered by historic photographs of Corinna from its gold rush days through to the present. There are also a number of artifacts on the walls and ceilings, including a canoe. Overall it has great atmosphere. We were amazed at the range of food available considering that the restaurant was in a very remote location. Steaks, prawn, fish and lamb were available on the night of our visit. The food was enjoyable. My steak was perfectly cooked (medium rare). The service was excellent. I would definitely return here.

Finally a seafood restaurant that serves something other than fish and chips.Beautiful setting and friendly, albeit slow service. Oysters were delicious and so was the soup of the day. We then had flounder- delicious. The lamb cutlets were overcooked unfortunately. Delicious desserts to finish off. There are a few German dishes (Kassler and Roulade) on the menu, I would have preferred even more seafood dishes. This is a restaurant to come back to!

Our family of 5 had a delicious homemade dinner at the Speckled Hen during our stay in Stanley. Both the lasange and chicken curry were delcious. The servings were very generous which made for good value. They were very accommodating with providing smaller portions for the children. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. I would highly recommend you dine at the Speckled Hen next time you're in Stanley - the food is excellent!

We came here for breakfast on a rather cold blustery morning and were greeted with a warm welcome by the lady and gentleman running this inspiring cafe. The breakfasts were perfect , I had a lamb pastie that was perfection and delicious . Really a major cut above the rest.

At the Stanley Hotel youâll find a cold beer, a warm welcome and great food. Our bistro offers quality Tasmanian produce featuring great steak and seafood. Produce is sourced from the local region. In season try the fresh Lobster (crayfish), scallops, cris
In Stanley you will not find a big choice of restaurants for dinner but honestly, with the quality available, who cares. This bistro offers pub style meals, but quality plus. I have never had a better chicken schnitzel in my life, moist tender, a beautiful thin garlic cream sauce - OMG. The restaurant area itself is a bit sterile, but you can eat in the main bar near the fire place, which we did. The hotel staff were friendly without being intrusive, and woah, the wine cellar is to die for

Moby Dick's provides an excellent selection of breakfast offerings but are also willing to provide options with those having specific dietary needs. The portions are large, the food is properly cooked and nicely presented. The lattes are hot, creamy and ...while Great!! The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. On a rainy day, this is a nice, cosy restaurant where one can sit back for a period of time and enjoy a really good breakfast and latte.

We had lunch here and the staff were more than happy to cater off-menu for the kids. Our main courses were delicious, but it's definitely worth saving room for the amazing homemade cakes and desserts! We thoroughly enjoyed our food and the staff were very friendly.
