Opened in 1902 it has obviously had makeovers but it is still the quintessential Greek cafe, fast disappearing in Australia. There is a new hipster cafe a few doors down but the history captured our interest.John Curtin as wartime PM arrived here at midnight one cold night and he and former PM Arthur Fadden plus a few other lollies were fed by the owner. Press clippings on the wall testify to others including Gough Whitlam, Tim Fisher amongst others to have graced the vinyl clad cafe fixed seating.Omlette and poached eggs were good. The egg Omlette was loaded, covered with thin slice of egg, barely containing the mushroom, tomato and cheese. The menu does a disservice to the Omlette. Service excellent. It was closing early on the day we visited as it was Being used for a movie production..
We were heading for the Dog on the Tuckerbox and by chance saw their sign and headed in for lunch. This is a really unique place. Bringing together 3 rail carriages-one for dining and the other 2 with antiques makes for a great experience. Good honest food and very reasonably priced. Owners were friendly, readily engaging in conversation; making it a relaxing dining experience. Great spot for families

We offer beautiful pub fare with an ever changing specials board which take advantage of the best seasonal produce our region has to offer
Friendly staff and cosy atmosphere, this place is a run-of-the-mill country pub dining room. The menu was quite limited and not terribly inspiring and the food, while passable, wasnât outstanding. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine for a decent price but there was nothing to distinguish this place and make us want to go back next time weâre through Gundagai.

The Gundagai District Services club is a social gathering place like no other, welcoming the wonderful addition of a coffee shop, please come and enjoy a coffee or a tea with a slice of cake, matched with an all day menu if you are looking for something t
We pitted for the services club based on reviews and the AGFG listing. VeryMuch a services club atmosphere high is fine. The prices are reasonable especially the daily specials - $15 for a 30gm steak. Ordered two âblueâ - his good, mine more medium bit tender and tasty. Good steer on local wines

Unfortunately we did not have the happiest of greetings. Although it was very busy on a public holiday the staff member taking the orders could have been a bit less miserable. And although it is our opinion the coffee was not great sadly, but I do wish well for the local shop.

Come and enjoy a deliriously cold beer whilst tantalising your taste buds with some of the best food in the Riverina cooked by owner/operater Aaron Grant. The Star also offers a large inviting beer garden with entertainment for adults and children alike w
We stopped by on the basis of TA reviews and were not disappointed. My friend had the mixed grill and I ordered the light meal of tandoor chicken with asian salad and rice. We also had herb bread for starters. Great solid portions of good tasty food were the result. Will definitely come again when travelling the Hume Hwy.

Tripadvisor, you weren't wrong, this place was great! As weary travellers on our way home, we stopped in for dinner and this place was a revelation! The staff couldn't have been more friendly, and treated us as new-found friends. The dining room was lovely and quiet and our meals were delicious. Prices were very good and presentation was lovely! It is a fair drive from home, but we will definitely make a day trip to have another meal here!Lovely looking pub inside and out! Thanks, it was great!
