Well-cooked mongolian barbeque with lots of meat and veggie choices. Patrons try to overfill bowls and spill lots of stuff making for a sticky floor and competitive selecting. The local college crowd are pros at getting the most food in a bowl - do not try to compete. Only drawback is when a large party heads to buffet prep area as the wait seems interminable. Cooks do a really nice job grilling meat and veggies, everything gets fully cooked somehow - nothing is ever overdone or burnt.

We went on a Friday night and were a little disappointed in the wait time to be seated for such a casual restaurant, the service once we were seated was impressively speedy and the value was great. Everything was fresh and we loved the flavors. The roll selection was really good with something for everyone.

I feel like the previous reviewers who gave this restaurant a good rating have never had really good sushi. We ordered a hamachi roll. The raw fish did not taste fresh and the nori (seaweed) was chewy like it was old. Good nori should be crispy. I asked the waitress which was better, the chicken or the salmon teriyaki and she said, "Definitely the salmon." When it was served, it was over cooked and hard as a rock. Fresh salmon that is cooked properly should be soft and tender. We also ordered the tempura but did not really eat it because the batter was too thick. Its supposed to be light, airy and crunchy. The dining room has a very strong odor of frying oil that hangs in the air as if their kitchen exhaust fan is not working properly. Seriously, why bother??

After reading an article in the newspaper about this new place, we set out to try it. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops, the udon and the yakisoba. All of it was great! The scallops were especially tasty and grilled to perfection. Soy that was included on the side was sweet and so good, I could almost drink it. The udon broth was fantastic and the noodles were good and presented in a really Japanese way. The yakisoba included carrots and a broccoli and was great too. We were thrilled with the variety and the deliciousness. Our group was trying each other's food and we all agreed. We will return. Happy to have a great restaurant at that location.

You can't judge a whole restaurant by one dish, so take this rating for what it's worth. The service was very good. Nice atmosphere and visually appealing dining area. Lunch prices were very reasonable and the portions were of a good size. Their Thai tea was tasty and refreshing. One of us got the Pad Thai, which was flavorful. Another of us got some kind of chicken dish that was also flavorful. I got an entree called Chiles & Basil with chicken. It actually had no flavor. My daughters tasted it and said it tasted like the broth was just hot water. I had to add soy sauce just to add a little taste to it. Maybe the chef forgot to add seasoning? I think for the price and service you can't go wrong eating here, but I'll probably not go back. The food was decent (except for mine), but I've had much better Thai food elsewhere.

There were lots of interesting ideas on the menu, but, for me, the overwhelming flavor was HOT. Spicy, really hot, really tangy, really really really hot. Did I mention the food is hot? I can't recommend or not recommend, because spiciness is a personal preference, but for me, it was too much. Some really cool ideas, blending Mexican and Korean flavors and foods, but with so much heat, I had a lot of trouble finishing any of the dishes we ordered.

My daughter and I were in Claremont for a couple days and decided to try out Kazama for dinner one night. It is a popular place but we were able to get a table and ordered a few different things. Everything was DELISH, especially the sushi rolls. Fresh and reasonably priced, I highly recommend Kazama!

Second visit to this local Thai restaurant and I love this place. Great food, terrific service and generous portions. You might have to wait a bit as this place is popular but so very worth the wait. I am dreaming about the fantastic seafood soup. Really terrific food.
