Enjoy the lunch specials available at The Spider Sushi Bar. As a local, family-owned and operated bar and restaurant, we have been providing amazing sushi rolls and teriyaki cuisine in Rockford, IL since 2008.
We moved to Rockford recently and have been looking for a great sushi spot to replace the ones we left near Chicago. We found it! Amazing sushi, just fantastic. I am not even sure what all we got but there was a lot - the rolls are all cut into 12 pieces which is a very generous serving. It is certainly not the fanciest of places but the quality of food overcomes the lack of ambiance. We ordered a pinot to go with dinner and it tasted terrible, as if the bottle had been open too long. For the first time ever I returned a glass of wine and the waitress was gracious about it - brought us fresh drinks, checked on our new wine selection numerous times. It's a little hidden and out of the way but much, much better than the bigger places in town that double as hibachi grills just doing sushi as a side gig. Be sure to try the roll called The Thing. And for those of you who have super hero fans, they will be tickled to see that many of the rolls are named after DC and Marvel characters.

Come by your local Noodles & Company at 6430 E. State St., , Rockford where its globally inspired dishes including noodles, soups and salads, come together to create a World Kitchen.
Healthy foo should always be this easy. Michael made ordering easy this my first time at a Noodles & Co. The Indonesian Peanut Sauté was great and not too spicy.
This is fast food, Chinese style but it is good quality and tasty with decent size portions. Good range of choice even though it was mid afternoon when we went. Clean and tidy, staff pleasant. Have eaten at these places across the USA and they are consistently of the same good standard for takeaway. You know what you will get.

JMK Nippon is a local, family-owned restaurant specializing in authentic Japanese dishes. Our delicious dishes are sure to satisfy your appetite. We also have gluten-free options for your benefit
This was the 1st time I have eaten in the "cafe". I was very disappointed, from the lack of attention from our server to the meal. I ordered the ginger pork. The server (Pedro) recommended it. It was very dry, including the chicken teriyaki my daughter ordered. We asked for water toward the end of our meal but saw Pedro delivering water to the two tables behind us rather than getting our water. We then had to wait an unusual amount of time for our checks. Our tips reflected the lack of attention.

We dropped in for some sushi. We got some fresh sushi. The portions are a little on the light side, and the price is right for the portion size. For the two of us, we had 5 separate sushi orders - spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy yellowtail, Crunch and Smoked Salmon. All were tasty and good. The ginger is pink (pickled), and tasted fine. You can get Ramune if you would like - we went for the soft drinks. The staff was polite. You order at the counter, and the staff gives you a number. From there, they bring the sushi out to you. Bring the plate back to the trash can, which is built into the area where the soft drink machine is. You dump the contents, and leave the plate. They did have chopsticks available. All in all, it was pretty good.

Perhaps we are the wrong target customers, but we did not enjoy the restaurant. The food was fine, but the service was grumpy, the Cub game playing on a small tv didnât seem to fit in with the projected ambiance, and the sting of a $1 charge for special requests just didnât do it for us. Still, I know others who recommend the restaurant.

Thai Sisters Cafe is a great addition to downtown Rockford. The service is very good and the menu is varied. We had the crab Rangoon for an appetizer and they were delicious- crunchy and fully filled. For entrees we had the peanut noodles with chicken and vegetables and the chicken Penang curry. The peanut noodles really had a great peanut taste with a spicy kick on the end. The Penang curry had a bite with a slightly sweet coconut taste to even out the heat. Both entrees were excellent and the portion size was great. We had 3 beers with the food and our bill with tip was $48. We have been here once before and will definitely return and recommend our friends try it as well.

Thai food is well known for hot and spicy taste. In reality it is a combination of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy tastes is what makes Thaifood unique. It is outstanding in term of tastes, high nutritional values and the diverse of herbs and spices that us
We were looking for lunch with real food instead of thawed deep fried SYSCO meals. This is a genuine Thai restaurant amid miles of franchise food joints. Thai Hut is in a small strip mall just north of Cherryvale Mall. The food is authentic Thai. The vegetables are fresh. The lunch menu is reasonable and icludes soup or salad. The service was prompt, polite, and perfect. I like hot/spicy. They have a spicy scale 1-5. I ordered a 3. It was just a tad mild for me but was able to juice it a bit with some Nam Plah Prik. Excellent Thai Basil meal with brown rice. Thai beverages or beer.

Dining here is popular and a reservation for dinner seems like a good idea. I have been here on a weekend and the waiting crowd is abundant. There is a very large bar area and makes for a comfortable wait if necessary. You can eat in the traditional dining area with the hibachi grills and the chef preparing your meal in front of you or you can choose the Sushi area and be seated at a private table. Please note that seating at the hibachi grill is with a group of people. So if you do not like to share a table with strangers, this may not be your thing. But it is really no big deal. Everyone enjoys the chefs "performance" but if you are looking for a intimate dining experience, it won't be at the hibachi grill. The food here is very good. The entrees at the hibachi grill are pretty much the same as you would find at a Benihana's. The steaks are very good as is the sea food. The main entree comes with rice and grilled veggies. These are great accompaniments to your protein. You can order sushi while you sit at the hibachi table but I think that the grilled meal is just more fun when you sit at the grill. The sushi, however, is very good and the choices are MANY. There is nothing to disappoint you. The hot tea is huge! It is like a bowl of tea but it is so good especially on a very cold day. Service is attentive and prompt and each sushi is meticulously plated. We eat with our eyes first, so if it looks good, we expect it to taste good as well. And that it does. They do open for lunch here from 12-2. They will close at 2 to get ready for the dinner service. I highly suggest a reservation for dinner but I don't think it is as needed for your lunch.
