The Greene Canteen began from a simple idea - create more fresh and healthy food while leaving a smaller carbon footprint. This means the food we make is loaded with sustainable items like fruit, veggies and grains, and the packaging we use is either comp
Like hot dogs? Then try these. The coleslaw topping on fresh steamed buns is unbelievable! And while there grab a great local microbrewere in the same building with Yellow Springs Brewery. Excellent service great food all local favorites
Been here a couple of times and it is just an average place to go to eat. The food is basic burgers, wraps, salads, sandwiches. They have some vegetarian selections which I appreciate (they will also substitute a veggie burger for any of the hamburger selections). They had a good selection of unusual mixed drinks on their menu. It took a LONG time to get our food, once we did it was difficult to get our waitresses attention to get additional condiments. I don't know if I would go here again, I think I would explore some of the other dining options in YS before I did.

Stopped in to pick up something for dinner. Lots of variety and build your own options. They had gluten free bread. Lots of interesting chips, crackers, sweet options. Perfect spot to create a picnic lunch. Sandwiches were loaded and prices were reasonable. Service was friendly. I was disappointed they were out of chicken salad, but great little spot.

Located in Yellow Springs, Ohio's oldest tavern, since 1827. Enjoy craft draft and bottled beer, wine and a large menu with a German American feel.
I have a simple grading system 5 - everything is done extremely well. Food quality, service, environment., value.4 - the quidisential restraint of that type. food quality is spot on. Service is very good. And there is decent value.A 3 is simply it meets the quality of edible food with a server that gets the order correct. The bear chease and pretzels were a 5. The salad though small had tomatoes, cucumber, peppers and a very good basil vinagareret. The peanut dressing was very good also. The chilli was good, though not my favorite stule.SO WHY A THREE.The salad that was asked for with no tomato was loaded with it. The server was just ok. AND MOST OF ALL the patio was closed on a very nice day.

We offer a large menu with choices for everyone! Live music on Friday and Saturday with no cover, full bar with yummy signature cocktails and 21 crafts beers on tap!
Very good burger with bacon and cheddar cheese on two marble/rye toasted slices of bread. The onion rings were excellent. Large selection of craft beers. My husband ordered a Reuben and it was on the same marble/rye bread. He said it had plenty of corned beef, but not enough sauerkraut. Other family members had the mac and cheese, but it was somewhat powdery. The side salad is huge and full of colorful greens. My son-in-law loved the sundried tomato salad dressing and the Saratoga chips. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant was noisy and we had about a ten minute wait. But overall we would definitely come back again.

Only open for dinner Wed thru Sun. However breakfast and lunch is served daily. Our breakfast was delicious and started with wonderful coffee. The fruit bowl was truly yummy. No hard tasteless melons or sour grapes. Everything was ripe and fresh. Great service and good value!

We were seated on the patio which was full due to porch fest...server was nice but clearly didn't know what she was doing or overwhelmed....had to ask for water 3 times finally she bought 2 small dirty glasses of warm water...everyone else had a carafe. The bruschetta was a joke 3 small pieces with disgusting toppings ...the burger was just as bad...you need a new chef...service was painfully slow... I did speak with the manager... his only response was...sorry! Well I'm sorry I had to write such a bad review!!!

Wife and I tried this place out a few years ago and thought I would visit again on my day off. Great little hole in the wall place, decor may be a little misleading because itâs pretty dark, old, and odd but the food is pretty good. Pancakes are thin but thatâs how they make them, everything is fresh, local and homemade. I went on a Monday morning so service was pretty quick. If you go on the weekend, prepare to wait a while but itâs worth it.
