We ate here on Sunday to watch MSU in the basketball tournament. We ordered our pizza right away and it came out quickly, 35 minutes which is the average. We were pleasantly surprised with our waiter and great service. The antipasto salad was a definite upgrade from the last one we got in December. The pizza was great as usual. The place is spacious, however, could use a good cleaning as the table and floor were sticky.

I've been here multiple times although i'm not sure why. There is nothing altogether special about this restaurant. I understand that the overall goal of this place is to just have a basic breakfast, however the food isn't even that good. Half the time when I order something there it looks like something I can make at home only tastier. It gets three stars because it is a small family owned (and the family works there I believe?) and we need to support more small businesses. But the service itself isn't exemplary. Not a terrible place but it's rarely my first choice.

Have had lunch/drinks three times at the Bistro, and just love it. Great appetizers and wonderful food! The menu specials change frequently and are exciting and delicious. Their specialty drinks are also terrific. In addition, the decor and atmosphere make this restaurant a true gem. I am concerned that The Bistro is not getting enough attention/appreciation from potential customers. If you're looking for a delightful time in a place that truly delivers a great experience, the Bistro is the place!

The Dover Stout alone is reason enough to walk into Old Nation. Then came the shared appetizers, cherry infused Brussels sprouts and a giant pretzel. But the greatest taste experience for me was the beef pasty! Wow! Such perfect crust, such perfect filling, and to top it off, a half-cup of brown gravy! Too much for one sitting, I took half of it home for lunch the next day. Even the delectable spiced potato chips stayed crisp and fresh. I've been told it's the best pasty south of the Mackinac Bridge. Don't tell anyone from St. Ignace or Mackinaw City, maybe it's better than up north. Everyone in our group needed a carryout container because portions were so generous.

We went for the patio over the weekend. The view and atmosphere is fantastic. The drinks were good. The smoked salmon dip was more cream cheese than fish. The scallops and cheesecake were great. Overall the appetizers and main course offerings were adequate. Personally I would prefer some different menu options. Overall the patio is amazing along with the view.

I have eaten at Ellie's Country Kitchen dozens of time over the years, but now live out of the area. I make it a point to patronize local places, so was looking forward to stopping in for breakfast. Same place, great hometown charm, everyone is friendly, and so on. We were there for breakfast. The eggs came out correctly, potatoes were nice and crisp the way they should be, but UHHHG! The meat. What happened? In the past they used to source locally. I think it may have been from Merindorf Meats in town. Now they must be buying from Gordons Food Service or another cheap supplier. We had diced ham in scrambled eggs which was, well, bland and gristly. We also order both bacon and ham at our table. The bacon was sliced paper thin, had little smoke taste at and and was just cheap commodity bacon. We have been spoiled in the past with locally souced thick sliced, nicely smoked bacon, but that is apparently gone. What was striking was the sausage. It was horrible, unedible, due to funky spicing. Please pick up your game and source better breakfast meat.

Took the family here for a good burger and pizza. Maddie our server was very cordial and friendly, especially with the grand kids. For appetizers we enjoyed tasty mozzarella sticks and ultimate nacho french fries (to die for). A couple of the grand kids split a cheese pizza which was right up their alley. Another grand son ordered the salty dog (hot dog with fries) that filled him up. He said it was about the best hot dog he had ever eaten. My hubby ordered a 50/50 hamburger made with 1/2 beef and 1/2 chorizo sausage. He said it was out of this world. All in all my family had a terrific dinner and we would go back in a heart beat. Yes, it is bar food, but GREAT bar food.

We met our friends from Utah for dinner. We all really enjoyed our food. My husband said that it was the best onion soup ever. Great service. We do not live in the area but I would have brought our condo lunch group there because they have a large room towards the back of the restaurant. Dan & Kathy

We stopped in here on a Saturday late afternoon for dinner and the place was quite crowded already. Had some wine, chicken & waffles for one person, and corned beef dinner for the other. Both were delish. Shared a Bev's Delight dessert - hot fudge cream puff. Server was excellent considering how crowded it was.
