I had the opportunity to try their coffee before their Cafe opening and it was so refreshing to have a medium roast instead of the burnt roast they usually use here in Ecuador. Not to mention it was about half the price of other places in town. They have many products that you can't find anywhere else here in Vilca, it is my go to place for cleaning supplies and nuts. Very neat and beautiful store in a perfect corner of town. Highly recommend and will be returning once they open their Cafe!

The pizza is great, bbq is really good and the craft beer is the best around! interesting artwork, and friendly staff.
I've eaten in the main dining on the street and out back but the pool on the patio. I've eaten at lunch many times and a night a few times. All the waitstaff are warm, welcoming, and cheerful. They work very hard to be helpful. The food is very tasty; the prices are reasonable; the lunch special is a bargain - colorful and tasty - but small (they don't try the white rice and potato fillers); usually it's quiet, they have a full bar, and it's a place to relax as service is often slow.
A family-friendly restaurant/bar with pool, foozball, ping-pong, poker, live music events, tournaments, a children's play area, gardens, bonfire, delicious healthy and inexpensive diverse menu, full bar with beer, wine, and cocktails, happy hour 5-6 every
I was GRANDPAcking in Vilca for 1 week.I found myself down at the Carro Azul on several occasions. It is located on the main eastern road about 500 metres from town. Food-wise, they have 3 âhouse specialsâ. One is their Lamb Burger with Fries for $5.50.It is open all day from Wednesday through Sunday. The Blue Car is a âdrinking manâs barâ! A bit of a âDive Barâ. Things can get loud and arguments start frequently. It has Karaoke from 7pm to 10pm on a Wednesday night. It has a popular Pool Table that attracts young locals as well as Gringos. A couple of these youngsters strut around and act âmuchoâ. It creates an aggressive âundertoneâ that you feel could turn ânastyâ at any moment (if someone doesnât quite react properly).Every time that I went there were arguments ⦠it put me off. I had a couple of confrontations with these boys myself â I donât keep quiet when these sorts of guys turn up and âmuscle inâ on the Pool Table when it isnât their turn.Once each week they run a Pool Tournament. It is $5 to buy in. It starts at about 5pm âVilcabamba Timeâ ⦠which could be 6:30 or later. It, usually attracts at least 8 people ⦠so, you can get in a good session of Pool.Letâs hope that Management take appropriate action. If they do, it could be a very nice bar. Thanks for your review. We HAVE cleaned up the pool table and put a stop to arguments at the pool table. There are some we don't allow in anymore and we have a board that people sign up for so everyone knows when their turn is. The emphasis is now on food and music and it's a lot more fun. No more of this "drinking man's bar". Thanks again and hope you stop in again when you're in Vilcabamba and give us feedback.

Charlie has lived in Ecuador for about 11 years. His restaurant is friendly and frequented by a number of the expats in Vilca. I went with an expat friend. We split a pizza that was very good. They have local craft beer on tap as well as the Ecuador standards. If you are looking for a friendly place with good food and atmosphere, you have found it.

Mico and Asia have a magical property, with a beautiful mix of edible and ornamental plants and trees. Mico is an incredible vegan chef. All the food was prepared from scratch with local ingredients, and many ingredients are harvested right from the property. Even the sauces were all prepared from scratch, and everything from the salad to dessert absolutely burst with flavor. The setting is serene and perfect for a special night out with friends or a quiet meal for two. Asia attended to all aspects of the meal with care, making sure all the guests were well taken care of. And the pricing was more than reasonable for such an incredible culinary experience. I highly recommend booking a dinner with Mico and Asia, you will be glad you did. I cannot wait to go back again!
