This is a hot dog and German food establishment. Weird combo, granted, but with the owner being of German decent, it is authentic German fare.Had the bratwurst dinner with German Potato Salad and Spatzuel. The noodles were too dry and bland tasting but the German Potato Salad was spot-on. Portion was generous and for about $10, I thought it was a great value. This is a counter-service place so you seat yourself and then place your order at the counter. Staff was friendly, place was clean. I will come here again to get my German fix!
We had a very good dinner over Labor Day Weekend. My Mom and I both got the grilled white fish with stir fry vegetables side. The fish was done perfectly and had a nice creamy dipping sauce. Beer selection is good and atmosphere was pleasant. Sand Bar is a great option for a night out at Gun Lake.
Stumbled through 'downtown' Middleville this week when travelling between Grand Rapids and Hastings. I needed to stop for lunch and spotted The Nook...decided to give it a try, and I wasn't disappointed. It is a bright and cozy little corner eatery [about 30 seats] right on the main east/west drag [Main Street] through Middleville. The service was friendly, the prices very reasonable and the food was delicious.Their breakfast menu is always available and after considering one of several interesting sounding sandwiches, I decided on the Cinnamon Swirl French toast with a side of ham. It was excellent and the ham was perhaps the best breakfast side I've ever had. TOTAL bill: $8.The only disappointment was that I had decided to order a cinnamon bun, but was told that SOMEONE had just come in and bought them out! How inconsiderate! :-) Guess they must be pretty good. Bottom line: very good lunch or breakfast stop!
Homey chain eatery serving breakfast all day & other American comfort fare in a casual space.
Can't believe this one has not been rated before. The original owner is back and the food is better than ever. Come here for ample portions of back-home cooking you'll love. We come here at least once each week. Try the Ruben sandwich or Friday night fish fry. Watch for mouth-watering specials. The atmosphere will remind you of the small country restaurants you grew up with. You are sure to meet local friends, or make new friends who drive 1/2 mile from Yankee Springs State Park.

Red's used to be called the Swamp Fox, with the name change has come some updating of the facility. We had the "totcho's", an interesting appetizer of tater tots loaded like nacho chips and burgers and wings. Beer selection on tap to match our tastes with the likes of Guinness and Stella Artois and a bunch of others, Very good, hot, fresh food.We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you will visit us again soon. We have many new menu items you might like to try, such as grilled BBQ ribs, chicken fingers, corned beef Reuben and more. Thank you for the positive review, we greatly appreciate it!

I have gone on several occasions for breakfast and enjoy their version of a skillet. I ask for the hashbrowns to be crispy. My favorite is layered with hash browns, scrambled eggs, ham and cheese with sausage gravy. My choice of bread is homemade white. The full portion is large enough to share or to have for breakfast the next day. (unless you are really hungry or can eat a lot) :) Friendly service.

Went with friends and between us we had the brisket, ribs, and 1/4chicken. It was all fantastic. The sides we're also very good. We had fried pickles for an appetizer and they were very good. There are many sauces on the table to choose from and they are all good. The fries were some of the best I have had.

Husband & I stopped in on a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon. We had seen their sign advertising Lake Superior whitefish special and decided to stop in ha fiery walkking in Gun Lake State Park. It was just about 4:00 pm and we had a choice of tables. We ordered a draft beer & a wine for me. We had a choice of deep fried or pan fried. We both ordered pan fried and it was delicious chips came with the special. They werenât what I expectedâ shaped like pita chips but not really crispy or warmânot the best. Our servers were friendly & took orders quickly & efficiently.
