Stopped here for breakfast while on a road-trip with a Great-Uncle. We live a little over 2 hours away, and had decided to hit the road and catch breakfast on the way. The portion size is great, the price is great, the food is great. This is definitely a restaurant worth stopping at if you need a good meal with good service.

Unmatched Old World decor, a diverse wine cellar, and premier personal service are all complemented by our chef"s creative cuisine. Enjoy dining in one of our cozy booths or elegant tables with breathtaking views overlooking the Mississippi River.
This is an exquisite place inside and out and we were glad we tried it but were just not blown over with our meals as we expected to be. The salad however was the exception with pears, burrata cheese, mixed greens and other touches, it was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful! Hubby had the Red Snapper which he said was ok. I the Vegetables with Homemade Gnocchi with a Pesto Sauce. It was a huge disappointment. Gnocchi was fried and hard not the tenderness I expected, the veggies were big chunks and the carrots were very hard all with little sauce which really would not have made much of a difference. Perhaps because we dined during the week not enough attention was given to our entrees which seemed to lack freshness. The pour of our wines was quite generous! With all the positive reviews I would suggest you try this restaurant. Perhaps ours was a fluke. The owner does come to your table, we just do not like to complain but first impressions really do count.Dear panielsen, thank you for your feed back and we are dissapointed that you did not allow us to make it right. We would have gladly corrected your meal had we known. We will discuss you experience with the chef so we do not have the same experience.
We are a Golf Course and Restaurant striving for quality from the course to the customer service. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, please, don't hesitate to let us know.
Versus other dining options in the area this establishment is a step up from the rest. Not inexpensive, likely pricey by local standards but good entrees. Menu seems to vary seasonally to keep it interesting. I even enjoyed live music on one visitRecommended outside of downtown Galena
This cute little shop offers ice cream from The Chocolate Shoppe in Madison. The flavors are unique, delicious and hard to find outside of Wisconsin. Their cupcakes were reasonably price, but we were there for the ice cream. My grandkids loved pretty side yard with outdoor seating and a BIG pink chair they played on.
Stopped for breakfast on a Sunday Morning hoping for a non-chain "food find." There was a buffet available but I ordered off the menu. We found the food barely palatable and somewhat small portions compared to other independent family restaurants located on or near US 20 (Rockford to Dubuque). After finishing the meal I felt bloated for the next two hours. Cute name, but not food--there are many other choices along the way.

Great little breakfast (and lunch) place. Terrific food and friendly service.
One Sunday morning I had a hankerin' for pancakes, and remembered I'd forgotten to try this local place. The Yolk has a great rustic appeal both outside and in its dining room, with lots of whimsical decor and a big inviting room for breakfast or lunch. The menu has both creative and standard diner choices. The coffee tastes like diner coffee, and that's all this coffee fiend will say about that. I ordered two pancakes and scrambled eggs. My server was kind enough to point out that the pancakes are full plate size, and that one might just do the trick. Thanks for that helpful suggestion, dear! She was correct. The pancake, flavored with a little cinnamon, was delicious and filling. Eggs were OK. Service was not only friendly and quick, it was almost flirty. I probably could have gotten a neck massage along with my pancake. How unique is that? Seriously, though, very friendly service. I am sure to come back. My breakfast was about six dollars without tip. So, a good value, too.

Hit this place on the Sunday night of memorial day weekend. Good food at reasonable price but the service REALLY needed help. Had to flag server down for refills. Pizza order took forever and it wasn't that crowded. Was told this was not the norm but... may try again sometime.

Cajun Jack's serves the best Cajun food around and has a menu that will satisfy any appetite, from fresh shucked oysters and gumbo to steak and burgers. The large beer list (40 plus) with many craft beers will quench any thirst!
We first went for a later supper because everything in Galena was too busy. So glad we did! The seafood crepes were delicious and there was great live music. Great selection of craft beers - loved the Front Street Cherry Bomb Blonde. We stopped back for lunch a couple days later. Their Shrimp and Crab Etouffee is spicy and loaded with seafood - just like the best from New Orleans. Service was wonderful too. We will be back!

We took a day trip to Elizabeth to visit the Apple River Fort. Stopped at the Welcome Inn for lunch. We both chose wonderful wraps (turkey club & the Greek wrap which was warm.) Both were wonderful. About $8 each. Friendly staff, clean & quick service. Afterwards stopped at the Antique Mall down the street in the old school. Lots of fun!
