Un apericena con grigliata all'aperto, con Palazzo dei Priori a osservarci maestoso a poca distanza e della buona musica suonata dal vivo. Un posto molto carino, fresco e raccolto. C'era molta gente per l'evento, ma abbiamo assaggiato tutto e con gusto (soprattutto l'hamburger, da manuale, e la panzanella). Adeguato il costo, ottima l'atmosfera.

We found this restaurant through tripadvisor. The place is very small and is managed by a very nice lady. She doesn't speak English at all, anyway we understand each other somehow :-), and we spent fantastic time in this restaurant. We ate a selection of local meats (what was extraordinary) and lasange. Although it was microwaved it was very tasteful!We highly recommend this place to everyone!

Enoteca Scali has been a wine bar and wine shop since 2001. Massimo (the owner) has an extensive stock of the best in Tuscan wines and you are encouraged to taste before you buy. Try a glass of wine with some local delicacies.

The owner is knowledgeable, but definitely not welcoming. If you dare to ask for something he does not stock, he is extremely dismissive. I heard him being insulting in French about a German customer who had asked very politely for a wine from a nearby region. Wouldn't give him my money....

Tucked up a little side street is a perfect little bar for a coffee or a cocktail. It's family run and by far the best cocktails I have ever had! Explain what you like flavour wise & you'll be made the most delicious masterpiece. All served up with fantastic freshly made tapas. We've been to this bar many times. I'm sure it won't be to everyone's taste.. it is certainly unusual!The decor is a very eclectic mix... on the ceiling are many bras (signed) donated by kind customers... also a VW Beetle bonnet and roof!The music playing will be some 50s/60s slow crooning or jazzThe seating may be a seat from an old railway carriage.The wine selection is just excellent... SO many excellent wines available by the glass... Super Tuscans at 6/glass or 27/bottle, plus numerous others. The bottled beer is excellent too... just don't expect a Becks/Bud or anything else you'll have seen widely elsewhere.When you have a drink you are frequently given a small plate of complementary nibbles. These cheese and meats are outstanding.You can convert, for a price, to a larger plate if you'd like something more substantial.If you're after something a bit different, give it a go!

We had an awesome time in here. Great wine offer and the famous tuscan delicacy cinghiale stew was also delicious. Offers so many tables and we found a small one in a separate room. It was just ours and enjoyed every moment of it. Service is outstanding. My partner was gluten intolerant. They are not really prepared for food allergies, but they tried their best to satisfy our needs. Not so cheap, not expensive either, altough it is a perfect stop for a lunch in Volterra. Keep up the good work 5/5! We'd love to go back anytime.

Having taken a lot longer to find a park than expected we were rather hungry once we got into the city, and this was the first place open that we happened upon. It was a great choice. The bar staff were extremely helpful and we ended up a sort of menu terroir with cuts of meats, cheese, olive oil and bread. Good value and delicious, and the staff were a pleasure.

Wish we had found this earlier during our stay. Anything we saw on the various tables and our own choice was tasty and very well made. The cold cuts are great, Lasagne perfect, Tiramisu as well. Even simple Bruschetta with Tartufo was a new experience. Recommended. Nice decoration under the roof.
