This tour will allow you to know and experience Brava with a very experienced guide. Along the way there will be anecdotes, information and the typical brightness of the inhabitants of this small island. The route is pleasant, interesting and not too tiring. The village of Joao D'Nole will be very characteristic and picturesque; if the weather is nice you can distinguish the ilheu secos ou do rombo, a group of uninhabited rocky islets 10 km north-east of Brava (nature reserves). After passing Joao D'Nole the main road continues to Mato Grande; from here you will have a great view on the east coast of Brava. Once you arrive in Fontainhas the return to Nova Sintra will be in the car with a stop at the delightful village of Cachaca (if you want to get something to drink there is a small barettino - also here it produces an excellent cheese!). Given the few guides present on the island, advance booking is recommended.

This spetacular walk encapsulates the essence of Brava: the remote valley hamlet of Sorno making miraculous use of its little stream to farm extensive green terraces up the mountainsides; the vivid, slightly menacing sea; the barren mountains; the ghost villages that are tetament to livelier times, and periodically, big brother Fogo Island looming from across the sea.
