I have been a resident of Dubai for 45 years now and counting, and have seen Dubai literally develop from large tracts of desert. The Dubai Ferry experience yesterday was “a first” for my wife and myself. We took the 11 am Ferry from Al Ghubaiba in good winter weather although it was a tad hazy. The trip to Dubai Marina took an hour and forty minutes with a brief stop at Dubai Water Canal. I spent the entire trip standing on the open deck admiring the view and taking numerous pictures as we sped across the Arabian Gulf to our destination. Dubai Ferry has regular daily schedules and offers Gold Class and Silver Class tickets. A one way trip costs AED 70/- in Gold and AED 50/- in Silver which is really value for money. We bought Gold tickets but sat in the Silver section which had larger windows and hence a better view ...... Tickets are available at dedicated customer service offices at both Al Ghubaiba and Dubai Marina for the return trip. We decided to spend time in Dubai Marina and returned to Dubai on the reliable Dubai Metro. Highly recommended for both residents and tourists - our Ferry was almost full yesterday.
