Neat venue, nice view, good service but the wine at Saude Creek....certainly it was the place to be & the server was good & interesting explaining the story behind the wine making, just more of a cool place to hang out with friends, listen to the music, grab bbq from the in house food truck & while away the time.

Skydive in Virginia. Virginia Skydiving School with 2 locations in Virginia. We are located in West Point and Victoria, Virginia. We offer Tandem Skydives 7 days a week. Please look at our web site for more information or to make a reservation.
This trip was a result of our son winning a bet or mom losing! The activity was booked on line with absolutely no problem. Both my son and wife jumped. This was his third or fourth jump but my wife's first! We met with "Joe" the instructor before the jump, who made them both feel at ease. The staff at "No Limits Skydiving" was very friendly. There was no pressure placed on anyone to participate or not to participate in any of the jumps. When we arrived, there were already a few participants and we found many more upon our return to their store. The staff treated everyone with respect, Joe was very patient and took his time to explain what those participating should expect while ascending and during the jumps. Can't wait to plan a jump for the three of us in the future!

Gauthier Vineyard is a newly opened Winery and Vineyard located in New Kent County, VA. We are currently open on week-ends and Monday-Friday by appointment. We offer a wide selection of Virginia wines! Our website is Gauthiervinyard.com.
Gauthier Vineyards is a welcome addition to the Williamsburg area. The gracious owners have spared no expense to develop a beautiful winery and deliver a wonderful winery experience. They offer a wide variety of white and red wines at their modern tasting room that overlooks a pond and the vineyard. You can bring a picnic and sit out on the porch or come Fridays and get a free pizza when you buy a bottle of wine. Highly recommended. Open only on Fri/Sat/Sun.

Decided to play Stonehouse on my way home from the Tidewater area. Played Royal New Kent last year as the back half of a 36 hole day......which proved to be a mistake based on the difficulty of the course. Stonehouse is managed by the same group (same designer too) and I figured I would give it a shot since I was passing by. Really enjoyed the round. Not a ton of folks on the course made for a pretty quick round. Nice shady drives between holes kept the heat to a minimum. Really surprised by all the negative reviews since I found the course to be in very good shape in general. Definitely a challenge with all the blind shots but still a very enjoyable round, even for a solidly novice golfer. Personally, I highly recommend.

First, who submitted those photos? A waterfall, mountains?
Anyways, this area is a bit off the road, no facilities and is hardly used. Trails are fairly maintained by Nature Conservancy group. They are indicated by markers on trees. I have been there several times and although have not seen much wildlife, it is very quiet and peaceful.

Pros:
Great trail with many hills. This is a good place to get into shape or practice for more intense hiking later on.
The scenery is nothing but woods. There are many places practice climbing or walking on tree trunks. Shady for the summer.
The trail itself is well maintained.
Cons:
Even though the trail is well maintained, the markers are non-existent. Do not plan on relying on them.
The trail can be slippery and muddy and roots. The trail is covered in leaves, so branches and roots are hidden and can be a hazard.
There was a section for hunting close enough to hear the gunshots. I thought it was too close to the trail.
I would not suggest this park for young children. Their small children's area needs vast improvement.
No real bathrooms (portable toilets are not real bathrooms).
Suggestions:
Bring lots of water, bug spray (especially in the summer), a whistle, and a compass. Also bring shoes that are going to be good for muddy terrain.

Fossil beach was like stepping back in time. Great hike even on a chilly day. Kids loved it. Maybe not worth a long drive , but if you're in the area and have an afternoon to blow. Lots of birds, herons, egrets, terns, and osprey to photograph.

After having not played golf in two months it was fun to be out on the course again. The pro shop staff were very welcoming and helpful. The course has good signage and is easy to get around. The rough had a grass that was unusual and took awhile for the group to get use to. Greens were in great shape and ran reasonably fast and true. Fairways are generally wide and greens are receptive. Keep your eye on the ball if you hit the rough as it will get swallowed up quickly. 4.5 hours to play. Would go back.
