The Violet Town market is a thriving, community market renowned for a friendly atmosphere. There are up to 250 stalls each month. Visit your regular stallholders or try something new. You will find fresh produce, arts, crafts, jewellery, wine tastings, plants, tools, furniture and more! Second Saturday every month.
This is a terrific country market and there is heaps to see. Violet Town hosts this market on the second Saturday of each month and it's huge. There really is something for everyone and we always come away with baskets of treasures. The sourdough bread is fantastic. Loads of plant growers and sellers, cut flowers, garden bits, fresh fruit and veg, meat, craft, coffee, food and heaps more. It's easy to spend a good couple of hours wandering around checking out the stalls. Well worth a visit.

A favourite local swimming spot where the water spills over large exposed granite boulders and across a natural spillway into a deep water pool.
Amazing spot that the kids will love. They loved watching the water flow over the weir wall and than over all the rocks making a steady creek into the waterhole down below. ACCESS: car park off Galls Gap rd and it’s a short 100 metre Walk to picnic area and weir. To access weir you walk under bridge. FACILITIES: long drop toilets, information board and fire pit
2km return in length, this is an easy walk on mostly flat terrain. This walk meanders along the Seven Creeks and Spring Creek behind the township of Strathbogie. The track also passes the confluence of these two creeks, where the Seven Creeks heads west and flows towards Polly McQuinns Weir.
The walk is recommended as a slow ramble towards the peak of Golden Mountain. Walking along old logging tracks you will pass large moss covered granite boulders, Eucalypts including Peppermint Gum and Ti-tree thickets. At the summit you will be rewarded with magnificent views to both the east and west.
The Honeysuckle Creek Walking Track and associated features – seats, tables, information signs, and landscaping – is a Violet Town community initiative. The Honeysuckle Recreational Environment Project began in 2002, and since then has had an active volunteer group taking on the management, preservation, and development of this Reserve area.
