I went the The Adventure Park at Storrs (this time!) with a 6th grade field trip at my school. As usual, the staff was wonderful and the facility was excellent. In particular, I found one staff member to go above and beyond to assist our students. He came to our element where I was attempting to have a student overcome his fear of a particular part and he not only came up to assist us, trying several different ways, he actually went across the element with the student so he could complete the course and be/feel successful. He did this with more than 1 student and really went above to help our kids! He is amazing!

Have been going to the Dairy Bar since I went to school there in the 1980's, and now next generation is attending. I have been accused of coming to visit the Dairy Bar, rather than my daughter. True test of ice cream IMHO is plain vanilla - if that is good, everything else should follow. And it is!!! Rich, creamy, smooth with delicious vanilla flavor - just decadent. Of course if you add some hot fudge and caramel, and whipped cream and a cherry - that is up to you ;) Often line is long, but moves pretty quickly - definitely worth the trip!

Came here this past weekend while visiting my nephew at uconn. Can't beat the price, $10 to see 2 movies. Concession food was a little pricey, like major theater concession stands, but was yummy. Definitely worth stopping by, friendly staff and the flea market/garage sale they have on Sundays was awesome. Can't wait to come back when more vendors are present. Wish we had one of these back on long island!

Connecticut Repertory Theatre is the producing arm of the University of Connecticut’s Department of Dramatic Arts. CRT produces under a year-round contract with Actors’ Equity Association, and serves as a cultural center for Connecticut and the New England region.
We don't go out a lot, but when we want to enjoy a show, musical or international artist, the Connecticut Repertory Theater fits the bill!

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is one of America’s hidden treasures—a superb collection of over 2,500 puppets from all over the world; an archive of books, manuscripts, posters, drawings, audio-visual materials and photographs all covering the history of puppetry. It is also the new home of the Puppeteers of America’s Audio-Visual Collection: the largest collection of videotapes, films, and other media about puppetry in the United States. The Ballard Institute curates and produces exhibitions of puppetry, both at the Ballard Museum and for touring across the United States. The Institute also offers workshops, museum tours, artists’ forums, film showings, performances, and other events and programs that promote the art of puppetry as a twenty-first-century art form with deep historic and global roots.
Interesting collection, a very small "museum", not worth a trip on it's own, but if you are in Storrs - check it out.

Lynne and Chris create a positive, supportive atmosphere for beginners or seasoned fitness enthusiasts. You will feel welcomed and a sense of belonging unlike some other gym type experiences. Invigorating strength, balance, and flexibility workouts! I was intimidated to try and I'm so thrilled with the classes! I'm in my late 50s ( ouch, that hurts to admit but I thought it would help the reader) and find this the best workout I've ever done, by far!

Great draft beers and delightfully semi-seedy atmosphere. Good pool tables, mysterious back parking lot. Food not bad for a roadside bar. When they hire a band, they always hire the best of the local bands and a few not so local. Great place for beer and blues with a wonderfully eclectic clientele.

We are huge fans of Sweet Emotions Candy! Mike, the owner, is a fantastic candy man and truly enjoys his customers. There are many interesting and unique kinds of candies available and they really do have the longest candy counter in Connecticut! There is constantly music playing, and the colors are amazing. You can get everything from gummies to fudge, and it's all fantastic. Definitely do not miss a stop at Sweet Emotions!
