Rapid Pleasure Rafting

This was our kids first raft trip ever an RPRafting made it a great experience for first timers. Rapids big enough for some fun but not big enough to freak out first timers. More of a float trip than a Rapids trip. Great family adventure. We would definitely rent from Rapid Pleasures again. P.s. They loan you water cannons to dowse neighboring rafters! Kids loved it! Thanks for a great memory for our family, much appreciated.

Royal Rafting

Second time rafting in Shady Cove!
Wow, what a difference from the other company we used last year.
Our group had about 70 people- 10 rafts all together.
Very professional staff who answered all of our silly questions.
Safety is their first concern will all rafters checked out a life jackets and given quick training on how to navigate the ride.
Everything from the check in area, life jackets, vans and rafts clean and great shape.
Stop looking for another place to rent your rafts- this is the place.
Well worth the drive to Trail- just 5 minutes from the busy touristy center of Shady Cove.
On top of all of this - I think this is the best rafting deal out there!

This charming gift shop combines antiques, unique hand-crafted items, art work, second hand recycled, reimagined treasures. It is all nicely displayed in this funky old converted gas station with house with kitchen ware in the old kitchen, tableware in the dining room, vanity items in the bathroom etc. The owner is an interior decorator and it shows in the carefully selected and displayed wares.

It's easy to spot with its red rowboat hanging from a tree festooned with men's ties!

McGregor Park and Visitor Center

Reviewed By mini - Fremont, California

We went to McGregor Park and Visitor Center. This is a very fun and interesting park close to the Rogue River and Lost Creek Dam Area.

We took a walk to see the beaver dam and where the public video cam was at. The park is very beautiful.

The visitor center is a lot of fun for children and adults. There is a lot of good exhibits on a range of topics. These included seeing the pelts of wild animals, learning more about the unpredictable Rogue River, learning more about the building of Lost Creek Dam, and the railroad in the area. There is places for children to learn how big some birds are and also there is an area where they can dress up in outdoor gear. There is exhibits on flowers and a lot more. The rangers here are very nice. Its a nice visitor center.

It is in an area where there are raccoons. I found the Watchable Wildlife Sign with the raccoon on it cute.

Grieve's Guide Service, Inc

Reviewed By Orlandostyle - Orlando, Florida

My boyfriend and I just returned from a 4-day wilderness fishing trip on the Rogue River with 5 other couples. The trip begins at the Grants Pass boat ramp and takes out just up river from Gold Beach at Quosatana Creek. The largest portion of the trip is through the Siskiyu National Forest and the scenery is breathtaking. Terry and his group of guides are amazing; navigating riffles and other obstacles while entertaining the group, baiting hooks, untangling lines and oh yes, netting fish. I have to give particular kudos to Jay. I am a novice fisherperson..... DON'T fish :) Jay was extremely patient and had me catching fish within 30 minutes of hitting the water. (My largest was a 27" salmon!!) And when you go be sure to take the 30 ft leap from Sports Illustrated. The bragging rights are great!!

The mornings start early with a carafe of hot coffee near at hand. Lunch is grilled on the shore consisting of freshly caught salmon/steelhead, a variety of delicious home made salads (potato, broccoli, pasta, etc.) fresh tomatoes and cucumbers all followed by yummy pie, cookies and even ice cream for dessert. Dinner is prepared by the guides the first night and the lodge chefs the remainder of the trip.

Evenings are spent at one of the lodges along the trek which range from rudimentary to very nice but all set in the beautiful natural Siskiyu Forest. I was just happy to have a hot shower after fishing all day!

If you have the opportunity to fish the Rogue, check out Grieve's! You'll be glad you did :)

We took 4 boys ages 7-10 and bought handfuls of food to feed the fish, They really enjoyed it and could have stayed for a long time. There was a building/center that was closed it might have been nice to read a little about the process and journey of the fish---there were signs over the "cages" but we could have used more info---the boys were asking us all kinds of questions.

Raft the Rogue Raft Rentals

Reviewed By rbyrnes3 - Petaluma, California

We rented a raft from them mid-afternoon on a Sunday. Friendly, helpful staff got us squared away with our gear including a cooler and ice at no additional charge. Sean drove us and the raft upriver to the drop-off below the spillway, providing lots of local information and tips on things to see on our travels north. Hot, sunny day and icy water river water were a perfect match, as we spent the next two and a half hours floating down the river, alternating between flat sections and fun class I & II rapids. Lots of other folks out rafting, fishing for salmon, or just sitting on the banks enjoying the day. We landed our raft at the park across the street from the rafting company, left it there for them to collect, checked out at the office, at went on our way.
