Rincon is best known for two things—surfing and sunsets. Beaches are small (meaning no huge resort beaches) and no matter how much of a Type-A personality you are, Rincon’s laid-back attitude and leisurely pace will soon win you over.

In this little alcove, Tres Palmas shelters a pristine reef only feet from the shore. In the summer, seas are calm & the waves are quiet (or nonexistent). Colorful schools of fish can be seen swimming among massive elkhorn coral. All you need is a mask & snorkel! In the surf season, waves can be 20-25’ high.

After lunch at the Tamboo, we went climbed down steps to the beach, then went bodysurfing on the breakers. Great spot! Few people, fewer rocks, warm water, and enough wind. The waves are frequent, relatively easy to read, irregular enough so that I could catch one further out and get a double ride towards the beach after lurking in (between waves) chest deep water. On the shore, plenty safe if you stay near the water's edge, which is where children and dogs stayed.

Find a maritime museum and dolphin-spotting platform at this lighthouse in Rincon.
Beautiful lighthouse and ocean views. In the right conditions you can watch the surfers having fun. There is a bar available, we didn't stop there this time. I took some excellent photos of the lighthouse and the ocean views. We also saw a wedding wrapping up when we arrived. This is a perfect spot for a wedding.

Domes Beach is located just north of Rincon, just beyond the lighthouse. It's a beautiful, sandy beach with lots of surfers catching waves. We went to Domes several times during our recent trip to Rincon. It's one of our favorite Beaches.
Caution... if you're just there to swim, the waves can be large and there can be a rip current.

It takes about 1 hour by boat. Diving is clear water with queen triggers and many other fish. I saw the 2nd largest lobster in my life here (and I have 2,000 dives), in the preserve. Definitely one of the best dives in PR.

Find the Rincon Lighthouse, the Maritime Museum and if you’re lucky, humpback whales, by this park.

A drive to the Lighthouse is an experience. Road could be better marked, but be it as it may, you will get there. The Lighthouse is impressive and so are the views. A restaurant would enhance your visit, as once you walk the perimeter there is not much left to do. All in all a should see...with low expectations

While Rincon has many beautiful Beaches to enjoy, this one attracts a faithful following despite not being the most easily accessible or most picturesque. It sits at the end of a short side road that fills up quickly with cars lining it to park. The beach is sandy for a comfortable perch in the sun, but you enter the surf through algae-covered rock outcroppings that are hard on the feet. The surf here is mild and the water is clear. A rope swing at one end of the beach keeps kids (and adults) entertained.
The concrete steps for which the beach is named survived Hurricane Maria intact and remain as a testament to the enduring nature of the beach.
