Sweet Art Emporium is a gift shop specializing in locally-made fine art and Virginia-made sweets. Located in Village Station, a 1930's era building in the quaint Village of Palmyra just minutes away from the Rivanna River, hiking, biking, and horse back riding trails, an alpaca farm and Camp Friendship. Sweet Art Emporium offers a variety of art workshops and is a quirky retro artsy shopping experience.
This sweet store and its committed owner combine to give our area a truly wonderful collection of art, sweets, crafts, jewelry. It has become my go-to shop for unique gifts. And my family members have discovered an easy way to find gifts for me, (And there is candy!) When I travel, I like to find locally produced objects to buy to remind me of the places I visit. I expect visitors to our area would be thrilled to find this shop. The atmosphere is welcoming and bright. No high pressure sales tactics, just lovingly created, carefully displayed products, from cards to pottery, wood items and unique fabrics, I always end up hanging around, even after my purchase is completed, just enjoying the feel of the place and chatting with the owner.

Small and homey. It makes a great simple outing with the family to pick apples, or a quick stop in on the way home to grab some local produce, pre-picked fruit, or homemade cider.

Once a cattle & hay farm, we purchased the Bragg Farm in 2011 and started the process of transformation from hay to grapes and steaks to wine. We planted our original vines in 2013 with successive plantings since then. Today, we have approximately 14 acres of French varietals, which Bruce turns into wine and our great staff and I sell in our Tasting Room as well as selected restaurants & shops. We have yoga (Thursday at 6) and live music weekly (Saturday 6-9 pm April-October and Sunday 2-5 pm March-November. We also offer Perfect Pairing Dinners and team trivia monthly. Crush, our winery dog, is always happy to meet friendly, leashed dogs.
We have been Wine Club members at Cunningham Creek for about three years now. In pre-pandemic days, we would come for a tasting and bring our picnic, eating either indoors in the gorgeous tasting room or out on the deck. The wines are excellent and we have enjoyed private tastings in the wine making room with Bruce Deal, the owner and winemaker. Debby, his wife, runs the tasting room and schedules special events such as wine pairing dinners with local chefs, which we have also enjoyed. CCW reopened recently, in accordance with Phase 1 rules in Virginia. We made a reservation for a table on the covered deck. Our “space” was clearly marked and while inside that space, we could remove our masks. Whenever we left our space——to buy wine, snacks or to use the rest room, we were required to wear our masks, even though we were outside. Better safe than sorry!
Our 28–acre farm is home to 15 alpacas and 23 wooded acres with a network of trails that are available to all visitors. Tours are available for families, groups, schools and community organizations. Bring your lunch to enjoy at one of our three picnic areas. The farm store has alpaca yarn, roving, alpaca clothing and accessories.
