Mirik Excursion It includes Simana Viewpoint, Gopaldhara tea estate,India Nepal border and Mirik lake Travelling to mirik is 35 kms. from Darjeeling. It takes almost two hours. Simana Viewpoint is famous for offering a splendid view of Maneybhanjan, Sandakphu trail and the lofty mountainous valley with the backdrop of Mount Kanchenjunga. From Simana for a long way towards Mirik, the road acts as the divider between India and Nepal. They are all mostly Nepali. They sell flowers, radish and carrots. Then we stopped at Gopaldhara tea estate. Tea garden in vast area. Enroute we saw many tea garden. Again moved forward to Mirik. After half an hour we reached Mirik town. There are homestays and hotel too. There is a Mirik lake but the water is very muddy. There is a small garden having colourful flowers. Horse riding is also done. At Nepal border there is a Pashupati Check post. We have to show our identity to enter into Nepal. Only Indians and Nepalese are allowed to enter. There is Pashupati market in Nepal side where cosmetics, woollen clothes and many consumer goods are sold at cheaper rates.
