Beach park and memorial to 1946 Tsunami victims.
We were driving to Waipio Valley and happened to come across the Laupahoehoe scenic lookout point which then led us to the beach park. So glad we found this spot. It was beautiful but very windy and the waves crashing against the rock were very powerful. This was also the site of a 1946 tsunami which there is a memorial for. Many students and teachers lost their lives and you can still see part of the school house laying in the rocks. So glad we stumbled across this beach park, it was one of my favorites from our trip. The drive down was interesting and it was not very busy when we were there.
