My husband spent the weekend at this beautiful park. We have stayed in the cabins several times, but decided to try the motel room for this visit. The room had 2 queen beds, full size refrigerator and stove, microwave, sink, dishes, coffee pot, and table with 4 chairs. We also had a wonderful balcony with a view of the water. There are 16 motel rooms and all are on the second floor- no elevator. There are also townhouses available. There is plenty of parking. We had our bass boat and there was no problem with parking boats and trailers. The marina is within sight of the motel. This is a fisherman's paradise with largemouth and smallmouth bass. Pickwick Lake is located on the Tennessee River. This park is about 12 miles from the town of Iuka, MS. I highly recommend this park, especially if you like to fish.

The Apron Museum has historic aprons on display from the Civil War and kitschy ones from the 50s. There's a culture about aprons - the ones you wore for work and the ones you changed into to look pretty but represent the work that as done. I had no idea. There are hundreds on display, more crushed together for a scavenger hunt on racks, and new ones for sale made in the design of the vintage. The best part was hearing the stories from the owner. She has a passion for aprons and it made me passionate about this everyday item, too.

The Old Tishomingo County Courthouse is a striking example of Romanesque Architecture with Second Empire style influences. This courthouse is the reason why Iuka is known widely as the “Marriage Capital” with over 44,000 marriage licenses issued in the years when Mississippi had no three-day waiting period for licenses. The courtroom on the second floor is much the same as it was when John M. Stone, a resident of Iuka and Mississippi’s longest serving Governor, supervised its construction and when the county’s first legal hanging happened here years ago. The courthouse was built in 1870 and is on the National Register of Historic Places; it is a Mississippi Historical Landmark. Strategically situated in Iuka only a few miles from the AL and TN borders on Hwy 72 between Huntsville and Memphis and minutes away from the Tennessee River and Natchez Trace, it is poised to be a tourist gateway and welcome center into Northeast MS.
This is a neat place. It is an old court house you can tour and has a lot of old photos and memorabilia to explore detailing the areas history. The second floor is the old court room and has been kept up very well. The volunteers working there are extremely courteous.

It has been over 20 years since I had been to a drive in, so when we visited nearby Tishomingo State Park we had to go to the drive in. We visited in early July. The Drive-In has one screen and is open on Friday, Saturday, and Monday nights. Call ahead to make sure they are open and to find out what is playing.
We had a double feature the night we visited, a family film followed by an action film. The Drive-In uses a low power FM transmitter to broadcast the sound which is better than the old speakers. Be sure not to run down your car battery listening to the sound!
The concession building was not air conditioned but the staff was very efficient and sold popcorn, pickles, nachos, and hot dogs. Prices were much less than a traditional theater.
One bonus- the Drive-In does not charge for small children, so you can bring the whole family.

Nice local park with some historical relevance. Was used during the civil war and springs are well known for their mineral content. Has a nice shaded play ground, basketball court, old cabin and a skate area. Lots of places to picnic with tables and a nice walking track.

This is a very large antique shop (not a mall) that has been around for almost 40 years and has about every category of antique or collectable you could want, they even have one room entirely dedicated to books, magazines and records. Don't be fooled by the plain looking outside of the store, this place is like a history museum and stepping back in time. This is a true antique store and you would be hard pressed to find anything new in this place or reproductions like you see in so many shops these days. The owners are very nice and knowledgeable and they even provide a furniture repair and refinishing service to the public.

This is my 7th High Point. I'm trying for all 50. Of the 7 this one isn't as impressive as some. Tishomingo State Park is 10 minutes away and they have some really awesome water falls and hiking trails that saved the trip. I would have been disappointed if I drove 700 miles just for the 1 mile hike up Woodall Mountain
