The cascade receives its water from the Vaana River. Within about 50 metres there are three escarpments the last of which downstream is 1.5 metres high. Other escarpments are lower. As the flow rate in the Vaana River is one of the average ones in Estonia, Vahikula Cascade does not suffer from the lack of water.

Harku Manor which used to belong to the Livonian Order was first mentioned in 1372. Today we can see it in Neo-Renaissance style, built in 1875. The outbuildings worth seeing include a livestock complex with historicist gables and picturesque ruins of a greenhouse provided with two towers and resembling a mediaeval stronghold. In addition to the main building, today you can also see a stable-coach house and a granary bordering the long front square of the main building.Interesting to know:- In 1710 the famous capitulation agreement was signed in Harku Manor, after which the Great Northern War ended on the spot.
