Cabot Visitors Center & Tour

As of January 1, 2018, the Visitors’ Center in Cabot will no longer be offering creamery tours. The Visitors Center WILL remain open for Cabot cheese sampling and purchases, as well as an opportunity to check out a full array of artisan Vermont products. We will also be offering a video tour of the cheesemaking area, (actually MORE up close than the walking tour!), as well as a look at the history of the co-op. This will be offered at no charge. Again, we are so grateful for your support of our farm family owners, our products, and our employees. We consider it a true privilege that you bring Cabot into your home and we hope you will still visit us to sample cheese, experience the video, and chat with our wonderful staff.

I would start off by telling you to bring a cooler. In the gift shop while you are waiting for the tour to start there are free samples of so many kinds of cheese. We left with so much cheese it is not funny and...MoreThanks so much for stopping to visit. We're glad you enjoyed tasting and learning about the farm family owners of Cabot!

Stopped over after sampling at a local restaurant. Walked out $150 poorer but so much better off. Great tasting area with folks taking time to discuss what goes into the beers and process. Will visit again for sure. Just wish they had distribution down in Southwest Vermont

I was so disappointed.
When we got there and call them on the walkie-talkie nobody answered for 20 minutes. We waited in the cold and with no cell reception were unable to reach anybody at all. Luckily we were we could hear the dogs barking and walked up the road ourselves. When we got there they didn't apologize at all. We were supposed to be a private group but because two ladies were late they took them first. We were a group of 4 so they could have taken us.
It was as if they felt sorry for the ladies being late.

This bridge was built over Sunset Lake in 1820 as a floating bridge because
the lake was too deep to support pilings.

You can drive your car over it, or walk across it.

Elmore State Park

Reviewed By MWitz - Montpelier, Vermont

Lovely beach on Elmore Lake, concession stand, changing rooms, picnic areas...and, for a change of pace, two trails up Elmore Mountain, northernmost peak of the Worcester Range...glorious views west to Mt Mansfield and beyond, east to the main ranges of the White Mountains. Sporty hike up the Ridge Trail, Elmore Mtn trail is shorter, but much steeper just below the fire tower.
