If it wasn't for the cars, you could easily believe you were back in the 1700s! I discovered the settlement when I was a teenager and decades later I'm still fascinated by it. The architecture is stunning and the church is a 'must visit', as it's absolutely beautiful. It must have been hard to maintain those buildings, so many thanks to those committed individuals who possessed the will to do it.

Been here a few times and visited last night 3rd october, didn't book and was fairly busy but the landlord went out of his way to accommodate us, found us a little table near the restaurant where there is a lovely bar. Felt very safe and all the Covid rules adhered to to the letter. Will definitely be using the local pubs in the area from now on as it's far to much hassle going into Manchester. So well done to the Lazy Toad and all the hard working staff will definitely be visiting again soon and will probably have a meal as the food we saw looked excellent!!!
