Weddings under the Gazebo, concerts on the square, a fun choice of great restaurants and shops to browse. All in a safe area. Check out the historical markers spread around the square and train. They even just built some new public bathrooms although they painted them a plain confederate gray color next to the civil war cannon. Kinda odd in today's world given the much nicer color scheme of the train depot right next to it. That aside, the area is definitely worth your time to visit.

Seems like I've been walking through Sheffield Antiques about as long as I've been walking period.
Indoor strolls during Freezing Januarys & Stifling Julys have 2 advantages:: Great sale prices as Dealers turn over, + walking a mile (or 2) while surrounded by pleasant scenery. Other times I'm in the area I will stop & shop if I have a free hour or more.
I really old things. to touch them & think of all the stories they could tell about the Families who owned them & lovingly used them daily or for Holiday occasions.
I'm familiar with thousands of Antique items ~ name, period, use ~ & there are still hundreds emerging from collections that are new to me. They show up in Sheffield's.
I can get lost in thought while associating vintage Things with People. Familiar Things that remind me of People I have special memories of. Which leads to gift purchases that have special meaning to the recipient ~ items that are not available in the usual uninspired retail environment.
Sheffield's newest addition is Jeweler Miss Barbara, who does repairs. She is also an expert on the hundreds of pieces offered for sale.
Don't miss the Outdoor Patio with all types of Yard Art, & also heavy Iron & Concrete pieces that are not likely to blow down the street in the 1st puff of wind. A little spray paint & polyurethane can add pizzaz to any object.
I think of my Sheffield's experiences as "Free Admission to a Museum."

The Museum offers a good selection of artifacts from the bible times. They do presentations for groups and host lectures throughout the year.
Its a non-profit organization and runs on donations. It is non denomination and all artifacts are based upon historical relevance and time.
Definitely interesting and worth seeing if you're in or near memphis!

Many people bring their boats or rent them from the bait shop. Fishing is the main attraction. However there is also an archery range, a mountain bike trail and a very popular hiking/running trail, plus picnic tables and restrooms. The terrain is pretty flat, but you need to watch for tree roots that crisscross the path and slippery spots caused when the ground is wet or by layers of vegetation. I spent most of my hiking trail time watching my feet. There are not many scenic views here--dead trees and new growth among native trees. The lake hosts a marathon and half marathon at the beginning of each year and the lake is a starting place for bicycle groups, etc.

This is the ideal place to host a business party. Fun for all ages. Great facility, clean, new, and great staff! They have dodge ball, archery tag, ninja courses, and so much more. The kids love it, and it's non-stop, active recreation. My kids keep asking when can we make it out...
