Ceres Games are the oldest free games in Scotland, always held on the last Saturday of the month of June, every year (except for war) since the charter to hold the Games was given to the people of the village by Robert Bruce in 1314 in recognition of their support at the battle of Bannockburn.

A window on Fife’s past, Fife Folk Museum in the village of Ceres in Scotland, offers an interesting and entertaining day out for all the family with activities for all ages. The museum is housed in a range of older buildings including the old weigh-house where grain was weighed at a tron on market days. The building also served as a tolbooth for locking up minor offenders and the village jougs are still attached.
So I consider myself a little bit of a food snob and so when I found out that the only place in Ceres to be serving food as a museum cafe, my heart sunk a little bit. It needn’t have. The food was fresh and clearly homemade (leek and potatoe soup with Brie sandwich) and cake for dessert. Both incredible. Lovely friendly staff. Will visit whenever I’m in Scotland :)

The Chillilicious Farm is Scotland's first and original chilli farm. We are a family run food and art venture creating homemade chilli food and gift items. 2015 saw the farm expanding into a small visitors area with a dedicated all chilli farm shop, PYO (pick your own) chilli tunnel, peek-a-boo style working kitchen and biodiversity nature trail. Based in the heart of the beautiful Kingdom of Fife, Scotland, we grow approximately 4,000 chilli plant per year - thats around 12,000kg of fresh chillies! Our speciality is in the wide and varied range of rare and super hot chillies that we grow, between 50-75 different varieties every year. The talk of the chilli world last year was the Carolina Reaper and we brought you that, this year it's all about the Chocolate Bhutlah... and yes we have that too! We are passionate about eating healthy, horticulture and nature, and enjoy nothing more than a good chin wag about our favourite spice! So pop on down and say hi!

We went along primarily to photo the bridge, very lovely in the spring sunshine. We also stopped off for coffee at the Weigh House Tearoom. Lovely atmosphere, very nice people, and a lot of their cakes are gluten free. Get in early though if you want their scones!
