Enjoy a fun and relaxed day cruising on the 'Red Boat' 14ks up the pristine Arthur River. Destination: Turks Landing, set in a stretch of cool temperate rainforest. On the way see awesome white bellied sea eagles pick up fish which the crew float on the water. Further up the river is the sea eagles' amazing nest which was built over 45 years ago and continues to nurture chicks every year. Hear a wealth of information about why the Arthur River, the only 'wild' river in Tasmania, is so unique and special. See the changes in vegetation along the river banks and learn more about the plants and animals during a guided walk in the rainforest. A hearty BBQ with salads and wine adds contentment to the day's outing before the leisurely return trip is completed at 3pm.

TAKE ON THE EDGE Edge of the World Experience the beauty of Stanley and Tasmania's north-west coast, a region aptly named the 'Edge of the World'. This is the one place in the world where even time getting lost will be worthwhile... With ancient history to uncover, amazing landscapes to explore and locals who will be more than happy to reveal our hidden gems. Isn't it about time you come up for a breath of fresh air?
A must if you are in or passing through Arthur River. Combination of southern ocean breaking on the reef entry to Arthur River is wild! Then add the mature trees that wash down the river and thrown back by the surf on the cliffs and it's spectacular.

The conservation area stretches along the spectacular North-West coast it is the coastal portion of a much larger region known as the Tarkine. A powerful place - a profusion of Aboriginal sites has led to it being hailed as the world's greatest archaeological areas. Rugged wild coast, ocean beaches and vast dunes Beautiful heathlands Rare & endangered flora & fauna Come and Share the Wonder!!
Did a drive around this area & the diversity that you see is amazing. It's such stunningly beautiful area well worth the drive out to here. Highly recommend it

I adored this drive... it takes you to some amazing places like- * Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area * West Point Reserve * Bluff Hill Point * Arthur River Coastal Walk * Edge of the World * Sundown Point Reserve * Nelson Bay * Couta Rocks * Western Explorer * Balfour Track * Kannunah Bridge * Sumac Lookout * Julius River * Julius River Motorhome Site * Lake Chisholm * Dempster Plains * Wes Beckett Falls * Rapid River * Sinkhole * Milkshake Hills * Tayatea Bridge ...and last but not least * Trowutta Arch The road is windy and you can do it without a map, but if you pick up a map from any Tourist Information Centre nearby it will tell you the difficulty of the walk and how long it will take... that way you can plan your day. Naively I tried to do this in the early afternoon and you really need a whole day to explore all of these places. I still managed to hike my way through a few of the walks and the lookouts. It's a fantastic out enjoying the best nature has to offer.

We wanted to see the beach nearby. We had fun looking for how to get down. We were successful. The beach was named Sundown Point. There were massive boulders on the beach and in the ocean. The ocean was wild. This is perfect for a walk. This was mostly dunes and beach. What a great time we had! A must see!

One of several scenic highlights along the Tarkine Drive. A very short gravelled path from the roadside carpark with good views down to the Arthur River
