Located along McDonald's Rd, Pokolbin Binet Family Wines is home to the wine ranges from Winemaker Daniel Binet, Ballabourneen and Domaine de Binet. You can sample their wine ranges and partner them with gourmet cheese platters.
We were strongly advised to visit both Ballabourneen and Domaine du Binet and we are so glad we did! We have always preferred the smaller boutique wineries and this one is stand-out. Dan the winemaker is really pushing the boundaries in experimenting with different varietals and blends and boy is he good at it. We were guided through the current wines by Paul and the lovely Julia and their passion for this winery shines through. Our only issue was limiting the number of bottles we could buy due to lack of space at home. We also grabbed some of the chilli sauces on offer which all look amazing. We will be back for sure.

In 2005 Macquariedale Organic Wines became the first vineyard in the Hunter Valley to receive full Biodynamic Certification. Becoming Biodynamic was a lifestyle choice as well as it being very important to us to be able to improve the land as we farm it. Biodynamics takes organic and sustainability practises several steps further by actually improving the soil. Being Certified Biodynamic/Organic means all products used in the vineyard (and in our case our whole property) are all natural and do not contain synthetic chemicals, herbicides, pesticides or systemic chemicals. The results of these practises is that the produce is grown the way nature intended, retaining its fullness of flavour, richness of colour and diversity or aromas of the land. By practising Biodynamic viticulture, we secure a better and healthier future for our land, our plants, ourselves and for you, our customers.
Delicious Organic wine, whether it's your first time to the Hunter Valley or you're a seasoned pro, I absolutely recommend Macquariedale Organic Wines, they made us feel very welcome, the view was gorgeous and the wine was the favourite out of all of the vineyards we visited.

The moment we set eyes on this wonderful estate we fell in love with its enchanting scenery and stimulating natural spirit. As one of the original Hunter Valley estates established over a half a century ago, it was our dream to rejuvenate the existing vines and bring new beauty and wonder to the landscape. Now, many years and vintages later we are very proud to share that dream with you at our beautifully appointed cellar door. Come and enjoy our exquisite wines and new culinary range, taking the time to explore our grounds and experience the estate’s unique tranquillity. In this way, we hope our dream can in some way help to fuel your own.
Great experience. Beautiful cellar door with lovely scenery. We were lucky enough to be served by Cherie who was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our tasting amazing.
