Ludlow Castle is an unusually complete range of medieval buildings with a varied history evident within its walls. We are host to a number of events that run between April and November, information of which is available at the local tourist information centre and on our website. Castle House was one of the last grand mansions built in Ludlow. It was sympathetically restored in 2006 by the current Earl of Powis and provides a range of Independent shops, Tea Rooms with an idyllic outside terrace during the summer months; function rooms that are available for civil ceremonies, weddings, parties, wakes, meetings The 3 no. self catering apartments are available for 3, 4 and 7 night stays. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, well equipped kitchens and sitting/dining rooms and views of the castle that are unparalleled. The Tea Room is a traditional English tea room with a glazed Courtyard, Pantry, Study and Garden Terrace. It is child and dog friendly with a welcoming and enthusiastic team, serving something for everyone. There are loose-leaf teas, cafeteria coffees, fresh juices and quality wines. A range of freshly prepared cakes and cream teas are available all day. There is a lovely walk around the outside of the castle where you are surrounded by natural woodland and outstanding views of the castle walls, River Teme and Whitcliffe Common.
This ancient fortress can be found at the end of the town square, it is a well preserved structure & a great place to explore, they have a very nice cafe & a lovely gift shop, well worth a visit

Been to Ludlow many many times as my local track and it never disappoints. From the moment you enter the area and have to navigate across the mats which are laid over the roads (horses race over the mats), you realise this is a unique with the back straight of the Hurdle and Chase on completely seperate axises! Parking is large and free on a large grass stretch of the racecourse near the entrance. Two types of admission available, i'd highly recommend Grandstand entrance at £18 otherwise you are stuck in the 'cheap' area with a poor view and poor facilities and very few bookies. Paddock viewing is excellent as is the pre-parade ring and saddling area plus the newly designed finishing area. You can cross the track to the main stands and even go on the top roof - Again highly recommended for very good views all over Shropshire and on a clear day, you can see for absolutely miles. I like Ludlow Racecourse's new marketing image and logos. These are all over the course and even on employees clothing. They really do make an effort here for a small rural independent course, Food and drink can be obtained from inside underneath the stands. A cafeteria really. A bit pricey but a good choice. There is also a BritBet betting shop. The railway line runs behind the course so you trainspotters take your cameras too! There is a racecourse bus from the station as well (otherwise a 2 mile hike!). If you've not been, make an effort to go - You wont be disappointed.

Monkey Mania is Ludlow's premier party venue and indoor soft play centre for children and toddlers. We provide a three tiered themed soft play experience and a separate area for toddlers. Our facility also include separate party rooms that will be serviced by an on-site cafe serving hot and cold food and barista quality coffee along with all the other drinks you would expect.
Regularly go to monkey mania as my little one loves it, and I have to say I find it much better then ‘Quackers & Mickey Millers’ for one the cost of entry isn’t expensive as you only pay for the child, the food is amazing and I highly recommend the sandwiches ~ 10/10! Depending on the age of the child is how much they will do, as I have a 2 year old who loves the toddler area & the main slides, but I can see why people say there children get ‘bored’ as there are bigger places - BUT you won’t get it for the same price as here!

The extensive Mortimer Forest to the west of Ludlow is a great place to go for a hike, whether as a family, with friends or as a couple. There are car-parks and trails and the autumn colours make the area one of my favourite to visit at this time of year. There are fungi in the damp ground and you also come across eroded patches of rock which can be good for fossils; it's worth picking up a local fossil book from one pf the shops in Ludlow so you know what you are looking for and finding; a really great place for some simple exercise and to enhance your child's nature education.
