Reached from Mumbai to Kudal by train and connecting bus to Malvan which is about 30 km away. Another bus for Devbag which is about 10 km away. The name Tarkarli is derived from the river Karli which flows in the area. Tar means the river side. Every house here is involved directly or indirectly with tourism industry. Most families have built few rooms for the tourists to occupy- home stay. They prepare home food and serve to the tourists. Beach cottages plentiful. Here people are very good and helpful. Beach is neat and clean with sea water transparent. Hotels here want the customers to book food in advance and then they prepare for the order, there by serving you fresh food. Choice of food is generally limited. Few hotels like Coastal Galaxy has good food choices. One can enjoy water sports at Tsunami island which is reachable by ferries which charge about Rs 500 for the cruise. They take you around for half an hour's journey showing you the Dev sangam the mingling of sea and the river. Here on Tsunami island one can take various rides like Water skiing, banana ride, sofa ride etc for Rs 200 each or package of Rs 500 for three rides. There is also provision for para sailing and scuba diving for which charges are about Rs 800 and Rs 1000 respectively. Walk on the Devbaug beach is very pleasant. One can safely go in the water and enjoy neat and clean water. It's so transparent that you can see the sand below. Sunset scene here is magnificent. One can enjoy the sunrise scene at Tarkarli beach which is about 3 km from Devbaug. Here various camel and horse rides are available. Coconut trees are plentiful. Coconut water here is much sweeter than what one gets in Mumbai. Sindhudurg fort can be reached from Malvan. For reaching it, one has to take a small boat ride which charges Rs 90 per head. Rock garden at Malvan is nicely managed. It's worth a visit. Good time to visit is December January. At Malvan one can enjoy the local delicacy Malvan Khaja. It is vary tasty and has mild sweetness and ginger. Malvan fish dishes are great. Doelkars spices shop is popular and one can take home malvani spices and other delicacies.

Scuba diving at the back of Sindhudurg fort is an amazing experience for a common man like me. Nearby other sports activity like parasailing, jet skiing, bump ride, banana rides are also great. Around 1800/- per head was charged for all these water sports activities in a well organised manner. Note: Swiming knowing/not knowing doesn't matter, my entire family did these activities. Awesome experience.

We just loved this place. A different experience. I have travelled abroad but nothing can beat this experience. You are in knee deep water throughout. The water sports are completely enjoyable. Scuba diving Parasailing Paragliding Banana ride Bumper ride Speed boats And many many more A must visit especially with kids Cons: if you are very hygiene conscious then this place isn’t for you. Mind you there are no toilets as you are in the middle of the sea, like a island but with water everywhere. Not recommended if you have small infants, this place does not have enough sitting area. Elderly people too should avoid esp if you don’t want to stay in water. You can’t escape being wet if you come here. There is water just everywhere. Even when you get off the boat, you have to walk through water just everywhere.

We have visited Devbagh a couple of times in the last 3 years. It is a beautiful serene beach. The best part of it is the confluence of the Arabian sea with Karli River - a place little further to Devbagh beach called "Devbagh Sangam". This point has a small joint where visitors can sip on tea/coffee/nimboo sharbat etc. with Hammocks. Must visit.

We had visiting in first week of this January, with my family of three members. Though as per their routine they provide training through video and Swimming pool on the first day in second half and arrange scuba diving next day in first half, in our case they arranged both the activities on same day,as we had very limited time and peoples were extremely cooperative. Video was about 20 minutes, which demonstrated basic skills required for scuba diving. At the beginning, we had to fill the prescribed form, which had many clauses and declaration regarding sound health with details. Main training was in Pool, after which all these skills were tested in the 25ft deep part of the same pool. If a person is not comfortable in 25ft pool, they do not go for scuba diving in sea. Charges were 3500 +tax per person. On the top of it, they provided 10% discount, being more than 02 person in the group. For reaching scuba diving point in the sea, 18 km travel by Speed boat is required, which is equally amazing experience and Full PAISA VASOOL. After one hour thrilling journey, we reached at the point, where approx 1 hour activity was made, which was an unique experience. Water was clean and sea life was visible very clearly. Guide cum trainer cum mentors were very helpful and caring. This institute belongs to MTDC and there is stay arrangement also, which we availed. Room was good and rates were reasonable @ 3000 plus taxes. With stay at this place, apart from doing scuba diving, we enjoyed Tarkarli Beach also, as it is situated at the beach only, away from crown. Wonderful experience on each part.

This humongous fort stands tall amidst the Arabian Sea.. a true testament of its time though in ruins has a lot to offer still.. I would recommend you visit the fort either early morning or late evening.. the fort is accessible by boat only and the first boat to the fort leaves at 8 am and the last at 530 pm.. make sure you take a walk around the walls of the fort as they provide an excellent view of the green sea water... the fort is huge and one must be ready to walk and also carry brought water thought water is available inside the fort at the entrance.. when on-boarding the boat from the jetty there is ample safe parking available.. the lines are long and make sure you have atleast 4 hrs in hand to visit this fort.. unlike Murud jhanjhira fort this is well managed..
