In 1861, Father Albert Lacombe and his Métis helpers constructed a log building to serve the new St. Albert Roman Catholic Mission. This simple chapel, Alberta's oldest building, became the centre of the thriving French speaking Metis settlement of St. Albert. Today the chapel has been restored to look much as it did in the early 1860s. Drop in to the chapel and let the historical interpreters take you back to an earlier time. Visit the crypt where Father Lacombe and Bishop Grandin are buried. Take a stroll through the cemetery, the resting place of some of St. Albert's first residents. Interpretive guides lead tours through the chapel and the historic Mission Hill site and demonstrate activities and skills of the time. Education programs and special events are offered as well. Tours are available in English or French.
On the historical walk in St Albert. Visit when they open their doors after the long weekend with interpreters. The kids love to compare the school setting of their grandparents to what schools are like now.

Located in the historic Banque d'Hochelaga building, the Art Gallery of St. Albert, features contemporary and community exhibitions and a variety of public programs and a gallery shop. The Gallery's award-winning, curriculum-based educational programs offer hands-on opportunities for thousands of children, youth and adults throughout the year.
I've been to the Art Gallery of St Albert about five or six times - sometimes for the amazing fundraisers they throw, but other times purely to view the latest exhibition and get a taste of something new. The gallery itself is modest in terms of space, but the staff there seem to have embraced this and will constantly bring a supply of fresh material through on a regular basis. I've never been and seen the same thing twice - something that the larger galleries often fail to achieve. There is a great selection of purchase-able or rent-able art works if you're looking to bring something home, and the location of the gallery is central to St Albert - itself a picturesque place to visit. I love art, and I love being surprised - that's why this place holds a special place in my heart. It is unique and the exhibits are well thought out, and that's what ultimately keeps me coming back over and over again.

I enjoy they drop-in classes for the flexibly. Instead of a show the whole family (3 generations) will go enjoy their favorite activities or work out. Then gather at one of the meeting areas for a snack or beverage.

OMG! Love this greenhouse. They have so many plants....I couldn't decide so I got 5! The staff were incredibly helpful. They talked to me about what I was looking for and how to look after it. I'm hooked and plan to make this a regular stop.
