Frank Lloyd Wright's Rosenbaum House

Reviewed By LittlePaint - Urbandale, United States

If you've ever toured a FLW house, you know they can be expensive. This one is not. $10 admission, but only $5 for seniors or those with disabilities. Between the displays in the visitor center and the house tour, we were there about 1hr 15min. I'd been to other houses, but this was a first for me husband and he learned quite a lot about Frank Lloyd Wright's design philosophy. Worth the time and the minimal investment.

Pope’s Tavern ha been around for many years. It was a place for travelers to rest when headed west to Natchez or east to Nashville. It also served as a hospital during the Civil War. Today it is a museum showing the soldiers uniforms, both North and South, many artifacts of the war and some of the Indians living in this area many years ago. During the Spring one can visit on Frontier Day. AT this event they have weavers, dulcimer musicians, basket weaving, and other crafts to view and purchase. Great for kids of all ages!

We stopped for a beer before dinner after seeing the two music studios in town. It was a perfect break -- good beer, friendly bartender to chat with. The brewmaster came out with a bag of newly arrived hops, very excited about the aroma and his plans for brews. So we heard a little about that too, which was fun. The hops were fabulous!
