My teenage daughters and I visited here this afternoon and had an amazing time. We spent almost two hours alone in the museum portion, and probably a good 45 minutes in the store section. I am a miniaturist so naturally I fully appreciated the skill and artistry involved in creating the scenes and accessories, but even those who aren’t familiar with miniatures would still enjoy looking around at the many miniature displays. I especially appreciated the historical accuracy and various tidbits of historical facts posted around the displays. This is definitely a unique attraction and one that is worthy of your time should you be in the Danville area. It seems as if they are regularly adding and changing the displays, so I hope to visit again in the future to see what is new! The museum and store are clean and well kept, and the attendant on duty today was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I can’t think of even one thing I would change about this place. Perfection!

McDowell House is a house museum. Every day, personally guided tours are given through the house and apothecary where Dr. Ephraim McDowell lived and worked. Dr. McDowell is known for performing the first successful removal of an ovarian tumor.
I like history and I am in the medical field so the tour of McDowell House was very interesting to me.

Our mission is to create arts opportunities for every member of the community and to nurture the arts, foster creativity, promote education, and enrich the community. We accomplish this through exhibits, education and events. Local, national and international artists exhibit in our galleries, and drama, visual arts, dance and music classes and events are offered throughout the year.
This used to be the Federal Building but they have taken it and turned it into a community art center. They have a lot of good programs there for children and adults. It is worth the trouble to look at their schedule to see what is going on now. Anyone wanting to help their children, or to learn more about art this is the place.

This was the 2nd time we have been to a concert here. It is a nice overnight trip here. We did the valet parking- was worth the $10 and tip to help the students. We really like the acoustics and how well you can hear the performers. We will be back.

We handcraft Wilderness Trail Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Blue Heron Vodka, Settler's Select Whiskey and Harvest Rum. Using local grains that travel only 3 miles from field to bottle, we make premium spirits on a 250 gallon copper pot still. Full gift shop and spirit sales on site. 45 minute tour that takes you behind the process of craft distillation on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour.
Real cool distillery and was the most personal tour of them all. Got to see the fermenters in action along with the distillation. Best of all was the tasting. These guys have my favorite bourbon on the trail for being relatively new. In about another 2-3 years Wilderness will be a force to recon with - they have a very bright future!
