The Hidee Gold Mine offers a Hands On approach to History, Mining, Geology and gold panning! We are Fun and Educational for all Ages!
I can not say enough about this tour ! Mark was our guide and extremely informative and hands on!! My 7 year old son had a blast. Mark helped him chip out his ore and even helped him pan for his gold. Mark even went the extra mile to drive to the top of the snowy drive and pick up my elderly aunt who was unable to walk down. We will be back for sure!!

I feel like this is an overlooked destination given its proximity to Denver and how great it is. I brought my sons to the Short Works and Madama Butterfly in July and it was very memorable. The venue was gorgeous. There is a courtyard and the theater company uses other adjoining buildings and buildings across the street (Williams' Stables) for concessions and other performances. Parking was a bit dicey, and I did not allow enough time so by the time I parked and paid up the street we were too late for the beginning of the short works and the attendant wouldn't let us in during the first short performance. Understandable. She also dealt well with me being sharp with her when she didn't let my boys in for the second performance when I ran across the street for snacks for them. Ugh, face palm; I apologized later -- I was just mad at myself for being late. Anyway, the short works that we saw were good and Madama Butterfly, magnificent. They had subtitles in English and a wonderful cast and set.

We stopped in to see the architecture and decor of the Gold Coin Saloon. If one enjoys a historic, well-preserved, 1800s structure, as we do; this place is a real treat. The bartender was friendly and informative regarding the history of the saloon. We also had lunch at Millies; where the food was quite tasty, at a very reasonable price. All the staff we encountered, throughout the casino were friendly, courteous and accommodating. The gambling area seemed typical; but again, that was not why we were there. This facility has a great, turn of the last century ambiance; in which one can indulge for a pleasant few hours.

We just made a trip to Blackhawk. Took the shuttle to Central City. Dropped into a very comfortable place called Dostal Casino. We had a great time. People working there couldn't be more welcoming. And the whole time, the aroma of pizza filled the air. We did not eat, but everyone else was and it looked outstanding. Well worth the visit.

This town has history and beautiful sites to see. We stayed November 2-4th, 2018. The Casino is very nice size, and I believe they said it was remodeled to be a Hard Rock Casino & Hotel. For what ever reason it didn't go through at the end stage. So this hotel is very nice and comfortable. It has a couple places to eat and plenty of games to choose from. It does have tables if you like tables. So the options are there. The area it is in is convenient to other locations and the town of Black Hawk is only a 5 minute drive if that. I definitely would go back!

Stopped in here with the wife to learn a bit more about Central City, Colorado. The gentleman working on January 31, 2021, was great. He was very knowledgeable about the town and answered all of our questions. They also had postcards which I couldn't find anywhere else. I'm glad there are people who care about what they do! Worth a 5 minute stop!

As we drove through Blackhawk and Central City there were signs everywhere "no one under 21". Century Casino was the only place that had a sign on their door "Children welcome to eat". So having children in tow we stopped here to eat. Happy find!! Very friendly and helpful waitress, she told us a brief history. Food was great, had the prim rib, yummy! Would recommend this casino to anyone traveling to the area!
