Wu has a similar set up to food market restaurants in Bangkok where you chose and buy what will be prepared for you. The difference is that Wu offers a buffet of fresh food at a reasonable price; drinks are charged separately. From the buffet you can chose meats and/or sea food which you place on your plate marked with your number then you put your plate on the pass station and when prepared it is served to you at your table. Spices and sauces you find next to the pass station. The food cooked for you is not spiced unless you did so yourselves before placing it on the pass station or alternatively sprinkle it with some sauces later. Its up to you to spice your food well or spoil it. The see food is excellent, I would reserve a table and return to Wu.
We come here one or two times in every month. This is one of the best sushi restaurant in Lübeck. They make every dish with just healthy ingredients. The owner and the family are working in the restaurant too. They are very nice and friendly. The prizes is not too high and the foods are very delicious. I can recommend this place for everything. We were here for romantics meetings, family lunch and with lots of friends too. If you would like to something special, you can talk with the owners and they will make for you anything.

Good family place. A little crowdy but the food is alright for a fair price. The service is a little like a café, but the staff are friendly and service-minded;-except for one thing: They only take cash. There are several restaurants in Lübeck Old city that don't take MasterCard, Visa or other credit cards. And I found only one ATM in the old town.So bring cash.

The staff person who was working at Charly's the night we stopped by went way out of her way to help us. We are very grateful for her help. She made our stay in Lübeck much nicer.

Excellent Asian fusion cuisine, with original interesting dishes. Very pleasant ambiance. Staff spoke excellent English and were friendly and efficient. Strongly recommenced, especially if you are looking for a change from German food.

It was late lunch and it was hard to get seated. The interior is impressive. It's pretty big inside so I was a little concerned but... we wanted some kind of Asian food to break up the German fare. Amalgam of sushi, Indonesian, Thai.... you name it. Hard to get attention from waitress but she was fine once we got her for our order. The food is not "authentic" anything. It is very dressed up and feels overdone. The price of lunch specials was decent, esp. with portion size. Neither of us liked our food however and the proteins had a weird texture. Prices were high for drinks (not beer). I wouldn't go again.

Best Sushi in town. No doubt...
Was looking for sushi in Lübeck and chanced upon this new place. While most places offer sushi as a sideline (with Chinese, Thai and more pan-Asian foods on offer - and none executed correctly), this shop focuses on one thing. And that is good in my books. The sushi is really spot on. Lived in Japan and eat sushi in many places - this is top notch even compared to restaurants in much larger cities. Fish very fresh, rolls are nice and tight, sushi options are classics and some more inventive variants. And the soy sauce (made inhouse) is an absolute star. Presentation good too. Not crazy about the wasabi served, but overall a real culinary delight.Nice interior, even though not Japanese as you might expect. The host is very attentive and makes every guest feel welcome with personalized attention. The other servers are friendly too, but maybe lack experience and polish yet. Overall, the service is a point that needs improving. Many items on the menu were unavailable (it doesn't cost that much updating the card) which is disappointing. Also wanted one of the great sounding cocktails. Server said none were available and instead I could have a "surprise" cocktail matched with my sushi with a choice of sweet/sour/bitter flavor. I really don't get the concept there and skipped the drink then. A "surprise" cocktail in a place not specializing in cocktails for 9 No, thanks. Just edit the drinks menu and list out cocktails you can serve - and TELL people what they are. Food was a rather long wait - kitchen seems to be a big bottle neck and processes overall need improving. Overall - place is a clear winner. Very full on a Tuesday night - for a good reason. You don't find much sushi like that in Europe, so the service hiccups are forgiven mostly...

This place is very busy, so it is best to reserve a table. The fresh orange juice is sooo gooood, so get that.We also had smoothie, pancakes and bagels. all of it was very very good and highly recommendable. The service seemed a bit chaotic though, and if you are in a hurry you might want to wait until a day where you have better time.We visited on both Saturday and Sunday, and would go again if we get the change. If you are in Lübeck and in need of Breakfast you should really go here.
