San Salvador de Jujuy (Spanish pronunciation: [san salβaˈðor ðe xuˈxui̯]), commonly known as Jujuy and locally often referred to as San Salvador, is the capital city of Jujuy Province in northwest Argentina. Also, it is the seat of the Doctor Manuel Belgrano Department. It lies near the southern end of the Humahuaca Canyon where wooded hills meet the lowlands.

Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes Profesor Jorge A Mendoza

El Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes "Jorge A. Mendoza" forma parte del Centro Cultural “Dr. Manuel Belgrano”, en la “Vieja Estacion” del Ferrocarril Belgrano en San Salvador de Jujuy. Una de sus tres salas esta exclusivamente destinada a la exposicion permanente de 20 obras de los Ninos Pintores de Chucalezna, que resumen la experiencia docente llevada a cabo en la escuela rural del paraje Chucalezna, en la Quebrada de Humahuaca, por el profesor Jorge Mendoza en la decada del '70. Esta coleccion fue donada al municipio de Jujuy en 1986 por la madre y directora de la escuela de Chucalezna, dona Nicolasa Nelson de Mendoza. Los cuadros, realizados por los alumnos de dicha escuela constituyen verdaderas obras de arte y cada una de ellas nos muestra un instante de su vida. El museo funciona de lunes a viernes de 9 a 13 y de 14 a 20 hs. Feriados no esta abierto.
