The museum shows the machines and the techniques that were introduced to rationalise the manual glass industry from the 1820's on. The collection includes manual presses, pantographs, Guilloche machines and other industrial artefacts. The techniques shown made mass-production possible already from the 1840's and was the basis for the economic succes of the Swedish glass industry for a century+.

Here you can see the exhibitions 'Six Centuries of Swedish Glass 2.0' and 'Studio Glass in Transformation' and temporary exhibitions about glass. Smålands Museum and the Swedish Glass Museum are two museums under the same roof. Welcome to visit both parts (only one entry fee). In addition to the museum there is also the house of emigration, this museum is also included in the same entrance fee.
