I visited Neshuma by recommendation from someone that really knows about food, and prepares delicious food himself. So, I had to give a chance to this particular restaurant, even I am not vegetarian.Despite the dish of the day was offered at our arrival, once I ordered it, they told me it was not available, which didn't make the best first impression to me.I was about to leave the place and look for other options, but I have to recognize that the service provided by Kevin made the difference.Kevin was kind enough to take my dissapointment in a possitive manner, recommended me some options from the menu, offered to make a special request to try and offer something close to what I wanted; all of these while giving me the space to think and decide withtout pressure.Finally, I decided to stay and I am glad I did!!I tried the lentils' stew with vegetables as entry and it was delicious, could not stop until I run out of it.Then I followed with the fries: organic potatoes cooked with the skin and seasoned naturally that their taste is incomparable.And finally the Morelo wrap: with organic soy meat at mexican style, lettuce, cheese, cucumber, corn chips and guacamole, with a dressing of your preference. [The original one also has tomato, but I can't eat it]As I said in the title, the food was great and the service was greater!!They took good care to understand my allergie and make sure nothing in the dishes could harm me.Even the sweet end had to be "to go", because we were satisfied by the size of the dish and its side dishes.My vote goes for Neshuma: great variety of vegetarian food!! And if all is like what I tasted, I can say it is delicious.A special thanks to Kevin for the great service offered.

Nice restaurant with friendly staff. Good choice but aimed at the American market with huge portions-1 steak meal is enough for 2. Tender steaks but i don't think they are cooked on a parilla-just fried so no grill taste.good choice of drinks.

As this is my first big trip since becoming vegan, naturally I get a little concerned at how difficult it may be to find something both without animal products, but also tasty. El Jardin is fantastic for both. When I arrived, having been starved by Air Canada all the way from Toronto, my eyes lit up when I saw the little restaurant tucked inside Hotel Rimcon. I had the veggie wrap for lunch which was great. All fresh ingredients, delicious and we'll presented. In the evening I went back with a group of friends and we all had a traditional Costa Rican dish, with the option of meat, fish, or veggie. I had rice, black beans, avocado, salad, plantain and nachos, and it was perfect. Filling, fresh, and vegan - a winning combination! And at only 5000 colon, even better! Would recommend to everyone, the meat dishes looked good too. But for my vegan friends, you can rely on El Jardin, for sure. Staff are all very polite and accommodating. Here's to hoping the next month of restaurants are just as fabulous!

Located on Calle 33, in the Barrio Escalante, right next to the railway crossing, the place is quite large with an eclectic but tasteful decor. The menu and theme is definitely mediterranean , and the restaurant was rocking when we arrived (luckily we had a reservation!), and even busier when we left at 10 pm. The choices offered are many and various, with a wide selection of Tapas, Carpaccios, Soups, Salads, Pastas, a good seafood section, beef and chicken, and of course, desserts. Comprehensive wine and spirits list, also a great choice of beers, soft drinks and hot beverages. I opted for the "Pescado Nuevo Mundo, and was presented with a very generous portion of perfectly prepared fish fillet, topped with a delicious white wine and cream sauce, and complimented with mashed (purée) potatoes and a very nicely undercooked and seasoned green leaf vegetable similar to chard. The service was highly professional, prompt and courteous. That's all I had (and needed), just over CRC 10,000, including tax and tip. Highly recommended!

Good restaurant, the quality of the food its top, the menu, usually presents different options.The service its good and the price its accordly to the quality received. Hope they could get the permit to offer liquors, because many of their plates would taste great with wine.

This restaurant is not large but the food is so good. I started with a Yucca Ceviche, which was delicious. I was with a large group and I believe we tried every starter. No one was disappointed. The avocado toast was VERY popular. The entrees were all delicious and even though there were 16 of us, we were relatively quickly served. The kitchen is small but mighty! The desserts were delicious. I was very impressed with this restaurant. I know I would not have found it without our guide but am very happy we did!

So my gf and I wanted to go for a nicer dinner while visiting San Jose, and selected here. Nicely appointed restaurant with a nice garden patio out back (we asked if we could sit here when originally seated in the restaurant, and they accommodated us). They also have a very cool wine room up front you can ask to go see - do so. The food was presented very nicely, and was good - but not great IMO. The servers were very diligent and clearly they are trying to ensure their service is top notch. If anything, we felt a little rushed as they were a touch overly diligent. We came for a night out and wanted to take our time. The waiter got my entree wrong, which worked fine for us waiting 10 minutes for another pork belly. Actually was ideal as we were splitting both entrees. Had this not been the case, they should have offered to take my gf’s lamb back to deliver both meals at the same time. Worth a visit, but may want to clearly advise the wait staff you want to take your time with the meal at the onset if that is your goal.Thank you for your feedback. We were treated to an incredible, one-of-a-kind dinner by the owner of the place! He explained the mode of preparation for the sausages that are the focus of this fancy fast food joint -- very simple, hand- and home-made -- and suggested specific wine pairings for each one. I usually don't eat processed meat, but broke my rule here and ate two: the chef's selection, and a second spicy offering. The chef's selection came with a medium-bodied Chilean Malbec and the spicy with Pinotage, and both pairings were perfect. As we ate, we took in the decor, crafted by an award-winning architectural team. I have definitely never had such an incredible combination of food, ambience, and service. 6/5.WOW! Thanks for your comments... but the most, for enjoing the Bò_Xperience! Cheers!
