Keste Pizza & Vino

We ate here for lunch this summer before an information session and tour of NYU. As my wife and daughter are gluten free, we are always looking for somewhere good to eat. Being in New York, we wanted to find good pizza. Keste is the place. This gluten free pizza was as good as any regular pizza, if not better. The price was right, surprisingly low/normal as New York is very expensive, and our service was excellent. When I ever go back to downtown NYC, I will definitely come back to Keste for pizza.

2019 Eataly at World Trade Center, NYCWe were happily surprised when we found Eataly being in the Oculus at Westfield World Trade Center. We were familiar with the Eataly on the corner of W24th street and 5th Avenue. The restaurant is inviting. There are a number of sections that you can actually dine. Luckily, we were early for lunch. We waited for a table along the window. There are commanding views of the World Trade Center Plaza and Fountains. An original fire-engine on 9/11 is directly down on the ground floor. The ambiance is both sad and peaceful to say the least. The service is friendly. What we found, though, it was hard to get the waiter to come over to our table after serving the food. These waiters have too many tables to serve. My wife and I had draft beers. We split a cheese pizza made with Blue Cheese. We had asked for “well-done,” but it missed the mark. Then, too, there wasn’t enough Blue Cheese. Next time we will remedy the situation with a “precise” order. We visited again ten weeks later. My wife had the “chicken salad.” She did not enjoy this as much. I had the “Mussels and Shrimp.” For a dish that is $25 it had seven mussels and the few shrimps were medium to small in size. I had to ask our waiter for cheese. The first visit we were overwhelmed with the ambiance of the eatery. The second visit we realized that the prices reflect this ambiance. The food is marginal at best. The name “Eataly” is what attracts people.

After reading the reviews I had high expectations. The wine recommendations were excellent but the waiter was a bit pushy recommending too much food! We had a seafood/veggie combo appetizer and the Sicilian rice balls. Be prepared for fish and shrimp complete with heads and eyes. My sister did not like her grilled seafood plate, it looked a little too fresh from the sea. The pastas were good but a bit too al dente. Super loud once it fills up, can't really have a conversation. Next time I'll try somewhere else. Cute little place and Spring Street is a fun area for strolling.

Last night in NY, so we went to the Village for dinner having found this restaurant on TA and because it offered GF food as an option. It was small and busy, and we waited 5 minutes for a table. The food was great and between us we tried a range of food, including GF pizza, pizza, salads and chicken. All were well cooked and presented and were delicious. Beer was good and their Pinot Grigio was lovely and light. It's a cash only restaurant and prices were very reasonable for NY. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing! The real deal! I have never found a better restaurant in NYC! This is now my absolute favorite! Truly authentic food. Not only the most authentic Pizze Napolitane I've ever eaten (and rivals with some I've eaten actually IN Napoli) but pastas and appetizers are all unbelievably authentic and great quality. The entire restaurant has a feeling of love. Love for food, love for customers, love for life! I love this place!!! All the guys who work here have a wonderful sunny and friendly disposition and really understand customer service. They seem to love their customers and strive to make each customer feel special. With so few tables and such quality I hate to reveal these truths about the place and let out the secret because I always want to find "my table" and "my spot" here and return to find the same quality, prices, authenticity. Somehow I have a feeling this won't change. This place reminds me of how NYC used to be. This is old NY at its best. It's a great great place and if you've actually eaten in Napoli you will appreciate it even moreso. This place....!!! I love it!!! Special thanks to Luca/Lucca (?) for running the show and doing it so well!!!

This is a tiny place on Prince Street. It can be a little noisy with everyone being seated very close to each other, but it's tolerable. We had bruschette for an appetizer. It was the classic version with olive oil and tomatoes and was awesome. Three of us had lasagna, and the fourth person had penne with tomato sauce and basil. They have a lava cake that isn't on the menu, and the two who had it were fans. All of the food was excellent. Reservations have to be made a month in advance and are recommended. However, there were a few folks who came without reservations after 8 p.m. who were able to be seated. Prices are pretty low for food of this quality.

Blackhawk is right about everything. Chumming up, arrogant reception. Deliberately overbooked. Though reservation there was left just a table outside by 15 degrees centigrade in the evening. In fact, there are many better restaurants.Dear customer,I apologize if you had this bed experience. Basically our staff is always kind and nice with everybody. This is our policy. Sometimes it happens that people wait outside because the place is small and we have many customers. They are always happy to have an experience in the Piccola Cucina so the wait is worth it. We hope you will come to taste our food.Thank you so muchPiccola Cucina Group
