Walking is a way of life in the picturesque Cornwall town of Padstow. The South West Coast Path—which, at 630 miles, is Britain’s longest footpath—stretches along the coast and, via ferry, across the River Carmel. The former fishing port is today a hub of fine wining and dining. Lose yourself in the Lost Gardens of Heligan, a fairyland of heirloom flowers, or go back to the future at the Eden Project, a horticultural wonderland housed inside dramatic biodomes.

A 6 mile headland walk along the South West Coast Path giving far-reaching views over the mouth of the River Camel and the Doom Bar, where mermaids wait to lure sailors to disaster! Features include sandy beaches, secluded coves, holy wells, a daymark tower and some stunning rock formations.
The sheer joy of walking part of the South West Coastal path from Padstow Harbour is just terrific...the sun is usually out, people smile and are happy and you have splendid views to gaze at...great stuff...

Had an amazing day here today despite being really busy, parked in the park and ride at the top of the hill £5 all day and free bus down to Padstow - well worth it as the town car park is always full! Had fun crabbing on the harbour, had lovely fish and chips from Chips Ahoy and also went on the ferry over to Rock for the first time today (return tickets are £4 for adults and £2 for children ) - spent a couple of hours exploring the area and enjoying the views!

I have visited Prideaux Place many times over the years living locally. It’s in a beautiful location overlooking Padstow and the Estuary and easy walking distance from town. The house and gardens are beautiful as well as the deer park. The tour around the house is really interesting and the house itself stunning, it was featured on the TV programme ‘most haunted’. I have been to some fabulous events in the gardens such as Music in the Park and outdoor Shakespeare Theatre. Also, recently opened in the tearooms Angus and Tracy’s food is delicious, well worth a visit! There are some lovely walks closeby to the War Memorial or behind the deer park and out towards Stepper Point.

Just travelled sadly back from Old Macdonalds Farm. We had three days staying in Nick and Lisa’s B&B what a lovely, relaxing,Covid cleaned, welcoming place to stay. Great facilities. I can definitely recommend the Bed and Breakfast especially the breakfast! Old Macdonalds Farm is very central to many beautiful beaches and walks.

A circular walk around the rugged coastline of Trevose Head via the iconic lighthouse and golden sandy bays of Constantine, Booby's, Mother Ivey's and Harlyn where there have been numerous Bronze Age finds including neck ornaments made of gold. 6.1 miles. Steepness: easy-moderate.
A beautiful coastal walk - peaceful - not hard but a few little climbs, its wonderful. Fantastic views of the coast and little beaches.
