RIO Washingtonian Center is a lakefront shopping, dining and entertainment experience for the whole family, located just off of I-270 in Gaithersburg, MD.
There are lots of places to eat at the Rio and you can stroll and walk around the pond. They have specialty shops as well as name brand stores. They have it all.

High rollers and shopaholics will love this locale with Bloomingdales, Lord and Taylor, Neiman Marcus, Saks and well as Nordstrom Rack and Marshall’s all within a few blocks. Generally, if you can’t find it here, you don’t need it! Wish all the stores were under one roof so that you could avoid the elements on hot summer or cold winter days, but there’s lots of great coffee shops and bistros for a hot or cold beverage while you navigate the landscape. Metro is steps away or lots of free, validated parking by one of the stores also to make this venue attractive.

Urban meets brilliant at Downtown Silver Spring, the colorful heart and soul of one of the region’s most dynamic, diverse communities. The buzz never stops in this vibrant, ultra-connected hub of bustling shops and buzzing restaurants, just two blocks from the Metro and two miles from DC. A lively mix of professionals, families and friends come together here where the fun shines day and night.
Great weekend activities, shopping, healthcare, social services. Constant building projects, always growing. Need car repair at reasonable cost? Meineke is great. The place to be!

Great food court and anchor restaurants, variety of stores at all price points, nice movie theatre/bar experience, and plenty of parking. Unofficial walkers group meets here during cold months, too!
