Moreton-in-Marsh is a town civil parish in northeastern Gloucestershire, England. The town is located at the crossroads of the Fosse Way Roman road (now the A429) and the A44. It is served by Moreton-in-Marsh railway station on the Cotswold Line. The parish and environs are relatively flat and low-lying compared with the surrounding Cotswold Hills. The River Evenlode rises near Batsford, runs around the edge of Moreton and meanders towards Oxford, where it flows into the Thames just east of Eynsham. Just over 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of Moreton, the Four shire stone marked the boundary of the historic counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire, until the re-organisation of the county boundaries in 1931. Since then it marks the meeting place of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire.

We live locally, and are therefore able to call in extremely regularly to what is undoubtedly an absolute gem in both Moreton and Stow (and Burford as well). Great range of cheese, pickles and jams (plus everything else) - more than sufficient to keep these foodies in continual raptures. John, Lisa and all their staff are knowledgeable, friendly and always welcoming - nothing is ever too much trouble. A visit to the Cheese Shop is always top of the agenda for all our friends and relatives when they come to Moreton. And then best of all, I ordered one of their gift boxes to be delivered to a dear friend for his 70th birthday. All done in perfect condition and on time - apparently it was the perfect gift. So we might be a tiny bit biased but it is enterprises like the Cotswold Cheese Company that just add to the complete joy of living here. Long may they prosper! ( and keep my pickled onion stock levels up - just the best with some Single Gloucester.
