Situated on Ha'penny Pier with stunning views. A wonderful spot for al fresco dining and on those cooler days the ideal place for a great breakfast, bowl of homemade soup or coffee and cake. Harwich is full of hidden gems waiting to be discovered. The Caf
A lovely cafe which was doing a roaring trade on this sunny August day. They have a few indoor tables and more outside, overlooking the LV18 lightship, sadly closed due to extreme temperatures below decks on the day we visited. Quaint historic pier with views over the Stour estuary. We had the all day breakfast (one veggie and one standard) which was served promptly and with a smile by the friendly and cheerful staff. They have quite a wide menu for the size of the cafe, including salads, fish, ploughmanâs, sandwiches, lasagne, jacket potatoes and toasties. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting the north east end of Harwich.

The Alma Inn and Dining Rooms has been at the centre of Harwich life since the 1850s serving ale to the citizens, sailors, soldiers and farmers of the wind that passed through. We offer food seven days a week. Go to our 'Whats On' page to take advantage of
This was a find I had not expected. Atmosphere was warm, inviting and just what we wanted on a damp rainy October lunch time. Packed because of the Sea shanty festival but the look and feel of the place just made me feel this was how hostelries should be. Staff lovely. Food was solidly wholesome and well proportioned. Beer was also delivered at the right temperature and was real. Will definitely revisit when I am next in Harwich.Thank you for your review Bennoattheseaside,Shanty weekend is spectacular isn't it! So glad you enjoyed your visit, if you find you way back here before next October please bring your own pirate and accordian. Thanks againHelen

A very good Italian restaurant in Clacton. All food prepared and cooked on the premises. Plenty of seafood including lobster and sea bass. Staff extremely friendly and looked after us very well. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed dinner at Francoâs. dinner menu was on a blackboard and I thought fairly limited, however the food was very tasty. The chicken and porcini mushroom risotto was delicious. Staff were very helpful and friendly. An ideal location for a special meal. Would return again if ever in Clacton.

The Golden Fillet never fails to impress. The fish and chips are always lovely and the portion sizes are certainly not skimpy. We go here for a takeaway and always phone ahead to place our order which I highly recommend as there are always queues out of the door.Staff are always friendly and I have never had a bad experience in all the years I have been going there. If you truly want the best fish and chips in the Clacton area then this is the place to go.

The is a small Patisserie/Bakery/ Bistro (28 seats), serving full breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas and weekend dinners. ALL the food is made on the premises. Specialist Patisserie/Cakes and Artisan Bread. Not suitable for small children
We recently visited for lunch having had mixed experiences at this restaurant in the past. Customer service was brusque. We ordered drinks and the waiter put the cups on the table holding the rims. Not very hygienic. The wrong order was brought but it was acceptable so we said it was ok as we didnât want to eat separately whilst the right order was produced. No apology only that they would check the ticket. The ticket was duly checked but still no apology. I presume they thought I ordered something I didnât want as they seemed to take no responsibility for their error. I was unable to eat more than a third as it was mainly mayonnaise. The waiter noticed that most of the food was uneaten. I explained why. The chef would be informed. No further comment. We paid and left, never to return.
