Came across this by pure chance, looks nothing from the outside, but quite possibly the best steak weâve ever had! We are from the UK and have travelled extensively, and can honestly say that! The service we received from Anthony and Jennifer was outstanding, nothing was too much bother! The price was very reasonable; I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Fine dining cuisine BYOB
Wow, so perfect !We dined with friends and had prior reservations. Easy parking behind the building. We were greeted at the door in an elegant yet friendly manner. All waiters looking the part, clean, accessorized, accommodating. Extensive menu allowed all four of us to find exactly what we wanted. Mare Monte is BYOB and they do it in style. We brought our wines, they immediately offered proper glasses and an elegant ice bucket. The service was smooth and prompt. The answer to all requests and questions was "yes we can". But the greatest experience was the food itself. All was top quality, perfectly prepared, nicely presented and very tasty. We enjoyed quite a variety including Caesar and arugula with poached pear salads, veal medallions (arguably the best I have ever had), delicious duck, and our friends praised the quality of their choices. We all had desserts. Limoncello desert with vanilla ice cream was truly delicious. My husband described his tiramisu as possibly the best ever, especially the cream. All desserts except for cannoli are "home made" here. Our server Mikael was excellent. At the end of our evening rushing to attend a concert in Philadelphia we all decided we wanted to be back to Mare Monte again.

Because it's within walking distance, my wife and I decided to try Verona. No regrets - but nothing special, either. The bread was very ordinary, the dipping oil unseasoned. She enjoyed her golden beet salad and gnocchi ragu, although she said the latter was very heavy. She's a pretty good eater but barely finished half the portion. My linguini pescatore was good but unexceptional, the primary shortcoming being the bland marinara. She enjoyed her cannoli but my chocolate cake with strawberry mousse and dusted pistachio was utterly tasteless. Service was good, ambience was fine, and the background music seemed lifted right out of Olive Garden. With so many decent Italian restaurants from which to choose in this area, the only reason I can think of to return would be if we want to walk to dinner. It could happen, but I doubt it.

We made the trek across the Walt Whitman Bridge to Collingswood to try out this great little spot. When you walked in it almost feels like youâre in somebodyâs club basement, but the energy is absolutely fantastic. Our server was wonderful, friendly, funny, and professional. The food was without exception fresh and delicious. I recommend any of the sushi, but donât miss the Friday oysters or steamed clams. BYOB is an added bonus. This was just a fantastic experience all around

A hip & chic Italian Seafood Restaurant nestled in the quaint town of historic Collingswood, NJ.
We were greeted warmly by the owner who also told us the specials of the day. There is varios selection of seafood appetizers and entree. We selected stone crab claws and rock shrimp bruschetta. Both were delicious and the bruschetta portion was quite large. For entrees we ordered their 2fish specials and a seafood pot pie. There was a misunderstanding of 2 separate fish dishes so instead of grilled benzino and a dish of cod we ended up with 2 benzino dishes. They were accommodating and willing to exchange but I decided to try it and the benzino turned out to be delicious! The owner offered to treat us to dessert on the house- a big slice of chocolate cake and a carrot cake. Both my sister and husband said they were the best dessert ever. Will definitely return.

We decided last minute to go out to dinner and a reservation was available. We were sat immediately upon arriving. Our waiter Alex was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed. My husband and myself chose to go with the special which was Barramundi from Australia topped with crab and white wine sauce. This did not disappoint. It was amazing. I wish I took a picture of it to post.We never went when it was in Haddonfield but parking is much ea6at their new location. We will be back soon.

I'll make it quick. We were a party of six, seated promptly when we arrived for our reservation. Drinks arrived quickly and were well made. Everyone loved their meals. My wife and I both had the same things: the crab cake appetizer and a halibut special for the entree. Both were wonderful. You can find some reasonable wines on the menu. We had two vegetarians with us and they found much to like as well. And they have free parking as if you don't care to valet. What not to like! Yes, it was expensive but not at all out of line considering the quality of the food, service, and beautiful atmosphere.

An intimately casual, seafood-centric, 24 seat BYOB with a seasonally changing menu that places importance on using ingredients at their peak.
What a comfortable little place! And a friendly, warm staff. The menu is small, which for me is usually a good sign. I enjoyed a kale and butternut squash salad that was perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered the Sicilian style calamari. He was not that enthusiastic about it, but I thought it was delicious! Our entrees were prepared to perfection!! My husband ordered the steak and I the salmon. The deserts were homemade and also delicious. Will certainly return and definitely recommend.
