There's a good crew of friendly people working here and food is delivered relatively promptly. It's all good quality and the chips are great, one of my benchmarks for a good menu. They have plenty of wines to choose from. Looking at the website it's a shame they didn't tell me they do a Viognier by the glass. It's good to see they also do Pinot Noir by the glass The pub is considerably smarter than when I last visited about 15 years ago and there is much more to offer on the menu, such as hake, monkfish and squid. There are several meat options. There is a good section for dog owners, but they don't get a view of the sea.Craster looks a bit gentrified today with new restaurants having opened. Even in late October there are still hundreds of people doing the coastal walk up to Dunstanburgh Castle. That's a bit of a stroll really and if you want a bit more exercise a good option is to walk along the beach to Newton by the Sea, have a drink at The Ship and then walk back to Craster for a meal. That's about 2.5 hours walking so you'll deserve a proper meal and drink at the end of it.

We called in here for lunch when visiting the area, parking is very limited but worth walking to from the local main car park.A very good and comprehensive menu offering fresh seafood amongst other good choices. Service was good from very efficient and busy staff and portions more than adequate. The main seating area is in a large conservatory giving wonderful views over the sea.

A very accomplished fish restaurant which I would heartedly recommend. I started with the smoked salmon followed by plaice. The freshness of the catch is self-evident and the quality of the preparation and cooking was sublime. Even so I still had room for the lime pannacotta ginger crumb which rounded off the meal perfectly.Booking is pretty much essential, we were a party of five.

Formally Sea Salt Amble (still owned and managed by Jonny & Julie)
We came here again after a long-ish time, just did not get around to visit. It was, as the last time superb eating, with a friendly reception, and the chef did cater for my companionâs dietary requirements. The seafood was cooked to perfection, the Sancerre wine we chose was a very good accompaniment and both our desserts were a very good closing item, so our evening out was a success. All this for a very reasonable price.Weâll be back......

Jasper's the Foodie venue where food is cooked fresh to order using the best local ingredients by owner, and Chef, Ryan Humphrys. Lunch or Dinner, dining at Jasper's will tantalise the senses with fragrent aromas and soft ambience of gentle Jazz...
Great atmosphere in this cozy restaurant with friendly staff. The fish dishes we had were outstanding especially the whole plaice. The chef really knows how to cook fish and my request for not too much garlic was delivered. The wines were good value and our choice, a Sauvignon Blanc was at the correct temperature. The bread and butter pudding I had for dessert included Cointreau and raspberries and this elevated the dish.My only slight reservation is that the menu is rather chaotic and could do with clarification and refining. However this really did not affect our enjoyment of the meal.

We visited in August due to reading reviews on Trip Advisor and it didn't disappoint. Unfortunately, there was no half lobster available (they cook what's caught!) but we still ate heartily and both kids (3 boys 12,10,8) and adults enjoyed. We had a lovely chat with the owner who enthralled the children with tales of giant lobsters and his knowledge of seafood. A cute place with tons of character! The best 'fast food' in the UK without a doubt.

We luckily happened to be staying in Alnmouth on a Saturday evening and were able to book a table for the tasting menu at The Beaches. A very good dining experience in a lovely relaxed comfortable setting with charming host Donald. The meal was great and more than good value. The BYO dimension also helped.

Worth booking ahead- popped in on a Saturday as two couples and two dogs and was turned away.Popped back the following week (Thursday)and was rewarded with some beautiful Italian food. Great friendly staff too.The H&A has two large areas one of which is dog friendly. Would recommend.
