We landed here for dinner after not being able to get a reservation at the Raira Lagon which books a few nights in advance. The owner came and picked us up from our hotel and we were seated on their deck overlooking the lagoon. Since we were there for dinner it was pitch black and no lights in or on the water so we really couldn't see anything. All the tables were full outside but there were so few of them that you could hear the quiet conversations going on around you. The food was average but big portions. We didn't stay long as we were tired from the day of diving and couldn't really enjoy the atmosphere. I think it would be more enjoyable for lunch so you could at least see the beautiful water.

Let's face it, Rangiroa does not have a very impressive restaurant scene and a good meal is hard to find.
Seems like Cafe Obelix and Chez Lili are alternating, one week Obelix is No 1, the other week it's Chez Lili. Unfortunately, I will not be able to judge because Lili was closed the whole time we were on Rangi.
It's simple at the Obelix....Fish or Steak...Steak or Fish....We had dinner here twice and both were excellent, just right after a whole day of diving. Prices are reasonable.

I've been to Chez Auguste at least 10 times. Their poisson cru is excellent. So is the chow-mein. It is located in the heart of Avatoru, so getting there may be difficult if you are near Ohotu. It is well worth going for a change of place from your hotel or pension

A great find and very popular with locals and dive centre staff, chez lily is a bijoux little place right on tiputa point and has a small but lovely menu. The atmosphere is fun and laid back and the food is fantastic, simply the best we found while on Rangiroa and representing excellent value for money in a very expensive destination. The menu is heavily seafood weighted making the best of what's locally available, and there is some Creole influence in some of the dishes. A lovely place to sit, eat, drink, relax, and free wifi too.

This was slightly pricier than some other places we ate in Rangiroa but definitely worth it. The settin by the sea is lovely and as it wasn't very busy it was peaceful and relaxing. Food was terrific and we ate here twice, trying fresh tuna, mani mani and burgers, all of which were great. Coffee was good too.
Service was friendly too. I'd definitely return. In fact I'd be tempted to stay there if I go back to Rangiroa although he rooms look quite pricey.

We had dinner at Puna's. Although they have cheeseburgers, fish burgers, etc., all four of us had fish. The shrimp curry was very tasty. Same for the mahi-mahi. I had the seared tuna, cooked just right and with a very flavorful sauce over it. I did not expect to find this level of cuisine on the island, and was pleasantly surprised.

Te Mao is the first Lounge Bar in Rangiroa, we propose cocktails, beers, wine and a selection of French Tapas (appetizer, meat, fish, dessert). Come and discover this cosy and "chic" place with confortable sofa in a nice and quiet garden where we have mixed modern and polynesian traditionnal architecture.
We came with our young daughter and had a very nice evening. We really enjoyed our meal. The owners are really nice and the their food is very well cooked. Everything is home made and they really did well. We highly recommend this place. Very good value for money
Nous recommandons ce restaurant. Le repas était excellent et la rapport qualité/prix tres bon. A recommander!
