My wife and I have been here many times. The food is quite good ... much better than you would expect in a small off-the-beaten-path town like Nelson. My wife often gets the Reuben, while I love their Sunday fried chicken. The fries are also noteworthy. The staff works hard and is attentive. HOWEVER, I have been here twice when I had to wait for more than an hour between placing my order and receiving my order. In each case, the place was busy, and they were clearly having a hard time keeping up.Still, having waited for 70 minutes for fried chicken, I would've expected the wait staff to be apologetic. At the very least, they could have communicated about the reason for the delay. The lesson? Beware about coming here at busy times. Your wait may be unpleasantly long.
First time visiting. It will be the last. Burger joint with above average cost. Food was average. Only two on staff to bartender and to work the crowded tables. Not a good experience The owner and probably his wife showed up to help for maybe 15 minutes and then left with still a packed house

Steak was tough. I ordered and received the smallest size and didn't realize that I was charged the price for a larger steak until the next day when looked at the receipt. The vegetables were swimming in butter and were supposed to be garlic but i did not taste a trace of garlic. The waiter spoke like a robot. He said the same thing to ever one that came in. We got a good laugh out of that. Until he didn't come back to refill our waters. The dessert was good. I recently obtained a handicap parking plaque . All the handicap parking were full so my daughter ran in and asked if we could park in one of the carry out parking stalls. There are three of them and all were empty. She was told no so we had to park a long distance from the door. We didn't see anyone use the carry out parking the entire time we were there.
Love to stop in around St. Paddy's day -- great corned beef, sandwich or dinner. Very popular local color place for a drink.

We brought family here to celebrate birthdays and we were pleased again. You get so much food for the price. They have two soups, many delicious salads, liver paste, cheese, crackers and the best deviled eggs I have tasted. Then the Prime Rib was just the best. It was seasoned very good. All of us got ours done just the way we asked- medium rare, and medium. No complaints from us.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. They have the best cheddar cheeseburgers. most of my family order a variety of the specialty sandwiches they offer. Order "blond" fries if you like smooshy fries. Speaking of fries, you might want to get a half order if you don't want to get overstuffed. They sure know how to fill a plate!

We started with a natcho appetizer....really good! There are several choices of natchos to choose from. We had the basic taco meat and cheese. We both ordered huevos rancheros...I had delicious corn beef and my guy had chorizo sausage. So good it was hard to stop eating it even when I was full.
