Find out what Pub restaurants to try in Clayton. Clayton is a town in Johnston County, North Carolina, and considered a satellite town of Raleigh. As of 2010, Clayton's population was 16,116 people. Much of that growth can be attributed to the town's close proximity to the Research Triangle area and access to major highways such as I-40, U.S. 70, and NC 42.

This has become one of our favorite places to eat in Clayton as they have a great menu with something to please everyone. They also have a full bar inside which is a nice addition to a tasty meal. The salads and the wraps are especially good. The fresh ingredients they use and the combinations in which they use them makes this place a go to at least once a week for us. Glad they are here in Clayton and look forward to getting back in there soon!

This is our second trip here and will definitely be back. The inside is kind of like a pub/tavern, brick walls, small stage, and a bar. There is actually a second dining area as well as a tap room (down stairs) with 19 beers on tap. Ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer.... the actually batter their own cheese instead of doing frozen ( very good). Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is very good. Found out through talking with our waitress that they have been at this location for about 16 years (must be doing things right). Nice place for couples, friends to meet and family night out. Good job Flipside

We have visited twice now. Tonight we ordered the pub chips which are served unseasoned with a side of ranch. They were good. We then had shepherdâs pie (salty, not amazing like hoped), sirloin steak (average), and a burger (good). Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We may go back occasionally but it definitely wonât top our list of places to dine!
A comfortable tavern located in an old historic home built in 1912. Great beer & wine selections. Menu includes flatbreads, dips, wraps, salads and other finger foods.
My mama and I stumbled into First Street Tavern last Saturday for lunch. It was around 11:45am and they don't "open" for lunch until noon. There was no one there except one guy in the kitchen, but the door was open, so we looked around and then put in our lunch order. The guy was really nice. My mama got gumbo which she said was the best gumbo she's ever had and half a flatbread. I got the pear and Gorgonzola flatbread, which was delicious. In the time we were there, only one other lady came in and she got soup to go. Their soup is made fresh everyday. This place has a great vibe and I'm sure it's a fun place to be at night.

I have lived outside of Clayton for years but never tried eating here, what was I thinking should have come sooner. The food is tasty with a wide variety of burgers and just about anything else. We went on a Saturday and they had live music, bring some ear plugs.

I don't give 5 stars but this place deserve it. The food was cooked perfectly, properly season. The staff was magnificent...and the price was very reasonable. I had the black and blue burger..shut the front door good!!! The sweet potato waggle fries great!!

Ordered the winter special of their version of chicken pot pie. This did not even resemble a pot pie. There was some kind of chicken mush covered with dried bread crumbs chunks then a heavy dousing of cheese. After a couple bites couldnât eat any more and took home for pup, the pup didnât eat it either. We wonât return. The waitress was attentive thus the only redeeming thing about this restaurant.

Restaurant/Bar where you can enjoy appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, dogs, pasta dinners, vegetable options, etc. Also get an ice cold beer either on tap or bottle, many drink specials to choose from.
First time after living in the area for years-definitely not our last. Food was excellent. I had a burger-one of the best I have ever had. My wife had the blackened chicken sandwich on Italian bread-bread was some of the best weâve had. Service was great and the prices are reasonable. Was a little worried as I ordered the single burger and thought it would be small-plenty big. Not fancy-adjoins a bar but the atmosphere was good. Will be back often.
