We had such a lovely time here - 3 families together for Sunday lunch. Delicious food prepared by Nancy - a lovely range of food - we had roast beef/pork, smoked salmon and egg salad, BBQ pulled pork ciabatta rolls and various sandwiches. The kids could play on the playground literally outside the front door and the staff were all really lovely. Thank you!

Lived in Berkhamsted for 20 years but this was my first visit to the George and Dragon despite making a mental note to pop in on numerous occasions. We stayed for Sunday lunch and found the service to be excellent and the ambiance pleasant. The roast beef and trimmings were the real surprise. Traditional but with some thoughtful touches and cooked to perfection. Definitely won't be another 20 years before I return here!

The Kings Arms restaurant, bar and rooms is at the heart of Berkhamsted, providing a warm and friendly meeting place and open all day for food, drinks and coffees. A modern British menu flexes throughout the day from breakfast through to dinner.
Lovely restaurant, food was delicious and would have got a 5 star review had the service not let them down.Visited on a Sunday evening and was seated quickly to our booked table. Order was taken swiftly and drinks delivered to the table, the waitress came back and took the food order. Once the starters were delivered to the table this is when the real wait came. Approximately an hour and a half between starter and main and then another half an hour until the dessert. It didnât seem like an overly busy evening and other tables were served much faster either we were unlucky or our food was forgotten about in the kitchen. I had the scotch egg to start and Pavè of Lamb for main and my partner had the Gambas Prawns followed by the Roast Beef. As I said previously the food was lovely and wouldâve got a five star review had the service not let them down. Will definitely be back when we are next in the area! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and leave feedback for us â we take guest comments very seriously both positive AND negative.I'm really sorry to read of your wait at the table and hope that we'll have ironed this out for your next visit and a 5* review!Kind regards,Benn Kempster

Great Fresh Food, Top Quality Beers, Wine and Spirits and cheerful friendly team! ** NEW OWNER - OCTOBER 19th 2019 ** November: Breakfasts served from 8.30, elevenses, lunch and afternoon cream teas.
This pub sits on the A4251 London Road next to the Grand Union Canal, and is on the site of 1,000 years of mill history. It offers good pub food, and afterwards (or before!) you can go for a walk along the well reconstructed canal towing path.

Well it is a lovely location by the canal. On a sunny day it is idyllic place to spend a few hours out side. Unfortunately the owners take a bit of getting used to but if you put that to one side you can have a quiet pint.
